Hey everybody,

I'm running low on storage space in my house, and I'd really love to have my storage be more interesting.

I was thinking I'd buy a wooden trunk, and cover it in pin-up style art, then paint a glaze over it. However, the last time I tried to do something like this, I realized that there's a lot more to it than just the concept. So here are my questions.

1) Should I print out the images myself, or do I need to find magazine clippings so that the gloss won't cause the colors to bleed?

2) What glue should I use to stick them onto the wood?

3) What gloss should I use to give them a shiny clear finish?

Thanks so much in advance. I'd really like to do this, so any help would be appreciated. 

I find these two fabrics to be so, so beautiful... but where can I find them? I've tried all my usual links, and no luck. Has anybody seen them? I'm totally puzzled.

I wanted my babies to have matching bandanas, so I got creative and made two reversible ones. One is Carebear & Disney themed, the other is all punk-y and pirate themed.

I don't have a child, but I just love making children's things.

So this morning I made a little girl's hat out of lime green flannel and pink fleece.

I had a lot of scraps of this material left over, so I sewed some panels together and made a top OR underbust accessory (I don't know what to call it) using the pieces.







When worn as a top, I feel like it's missing something, but the last time I hemmed this fabric... it ruined the stretchiness. Please advise. 

I took an old Hook Ups shirt and I really want to make it something fun and wearable. However, I'm a little stuck. I've got the top the way I want it...




But I feel like it still looks like a plain hook ups shirt:




So what should I do next? I had the idea to turn it into a dress, but I'm not too sure how to go about doing it... what colors to use, etc.

Any and all suggestions for making this a more fun potential shirt/outfit would be great.

I promised I would clean out the guest room, which is overflowing with bins full of my fabric scraps. They're all different shapes and sizes, but none of them big enough to really complete a full project with.

Other than lots and lots of arm warmers, what can I make with smaller pieces of fabric?

Should I just toss them out? Or maybe create a grab-bag style auction to try to get rid of them?

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

This is my contribution to Valentines Day. A polka dotted dress made with alternating Thumper & heart panels. I've made several of this dress style, because I chopped up a dress that I loved in order to get the pattern. So I'm sorry I can't make a tutorial :-(

I decided to cut apart and copy an old halter top of mine yesterday. Midway through I realized I didn't have enough of any one fabric to make it uniform, soooo I started throwing different fabrics on top of one another to find a good pairing.

I actually love the combination of fabrics. Skulls have never looked so feminine to me  

I started making the bottom half a very, very long time ago. Finally today I finished it by attaching some boob coverage.
