They are very nice!  The mouse ones made me nostalgic!!  You won't believe it, but when i was younger, i had a pair of earrings that were post earrings, and one of the earrings was a little teeny mousetrap and the other one was a little teeny mouse that looked EXACTLY like your mousies!!!  With the wooden body and the black ears!

*SIGH*  growing up in the 80's rocked!!

That is very cute!!  Boy, it brings back memories!  I almost forgot about metal enameling.  We did a project in grade school.  I think it was a little charm or something for a necklace.  I can't remember too much of it tho, I mean, I am getting to be an old maid!!

Keep up the good work!!!   Cool
134  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Holiday Handmade gift dissapointment :( on: September 17, 2006 01:36:36 PM
I have had this happen.  It seems that everyone would like a sweater from the gap or a new lotion basket from Bath&Body over getting something handmade.  HOWEVER, I have noticed that it is really bad at Christmas.  I have experienced giving something handmade to someone on their b-day and then doing something equally kick ass for their Christmas present and they act like I gave them one of my used socks!!   Its like everyone in the Family is competing over who gets what at Christmas. I made dreamcatchers for everyone one year.  Really kick ass dreamcatchers that took me alot of time to do.  I did this because I had the materials around and I didn't have any money to buy presents.  They all have them on their walls, except for one person, but when they got them, they seemed to be a little dissapointed.  Oh well, I have learned my lesson.  I would rather craft for people who will appreciate what I made for them.

I don't understand family sometimes  Sad
135  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help!! I'm trying to make a "nestlace" on: September 13, 2006 05:55:49 PM
Thanks!!  That does help.  I thought I was doing it wrong.  I searched on here but didn't quite find out what you found.  Thanks a bunch.  I will get around to taking a pic of what I did crate and post it soon.
136  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Help!! I'm trying to make a "nestlace" on: September 11, 2006 05:52:06 PM
Hello all,

I am obsessed with the almighty "nestlace" that we all admire and covet for our own.  I have attempted to make one if these pretties but I think I have failed a bit.  I have seached for a tutorial on these things here and cannot find one.  I would love to have a tute or some pics of one from the back and the side.  I just can't figure out some of the construction.  I must have bunches and I want to make them in colors, etc.  The egg-potential of several beads that I have depends on it   Grin

137  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Animal Flash Cards on: September 06, 2006 06:58:37 PM
OMG!!  I am so old!!  I had the whole set of those cards!!  I remember they came in a green box and we got new ones every month.

*Sigh*  Loove the 80's

Here is an idea.  Cut the animals free from the backgrounds and poke a hole in the top.  glue them on something to make then stiff or glue a funky color paper with designs or something to the back, trim around it and string together to make a funky paper scuplture that you could hang from the ceiling.    Just an idea, I love tackiness!

That last one needs to be exposed tho, that is a definate wear out in public somehow!
138  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: old perfume spray bottle on: September 06, 2006 06:41:54 PM
try filling the bottle up with plain ole' rubbin alcohol.  let it sit for a few days and repeat.  the alcohol should break down the smell if not take it away.  rinse the bottle out after doing this.  most smelleys are based with alcohol.  also useful if you overdose on a perfume.  a cotton ball soaked in alcohol will take away some of the smell if you rub it on the oversprayed area.

Ah, I know. it's really sad that I know this.  Selling perfume at Macy's tends to brainwash you a bit  Tongue

Hey Kat  Grin

I am in Cary and I am forver collecting stuff.  Stuff that has potential to be crafty one day when I have enough room to do so.  I would love to find someone else who wants to collect some cool stuff at places around town.  I love to do thrift shops for stuff, but the ones in Cary tend to be overpriced or the stuff isn't good.

PM me if you want to chat about this Wink

Rock on!
