1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Patchwork Pillow Cover on: January 21, 2008 09:29:17 AM
Ok, so the Honey and I got a hand-me-down sofa that came with super-comfy leopard print pillows. I like the print myself, but it doesn't really "go" with our other furniture/decorations, and it utterly annoyed the boy. *sadness*

My solution: I shopped the remnants section of the local fabric store and cut some squares that I sewed together (first sewing machine project!  Cheesy) into a simple pillowcase that fit right over the pillow.

The pillow:

The back:

Now I just have to steam those darn wrinkles out (that aren't quite so pronounced in person, honest)
2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Sculpture Casualty! Repair broken pieces?? on: May 14, 2007 11:43:53 AM
So I thought I'd try my hand at sculpting a grumpy little desk troll for my dad and all was well until my boyfriend accidently broke off one of his ears!

Anyone have any experience sticking broken pieces back together?  I assumed that I could just superglue it back together, but if I do that do you think I can still rebake him when I finish the body?

Thanks so much!
Sara

P.S.  This is my very, very first sculpture, so please ignore all of the obvious flaws, lol
