I like how it looks with lacing at the front and the back. but is it hard to get on?

the pattern is from the book Pattern Magic, which i am DYING to get my hands on. i cant find the other users photos that posted a closer photo of the page in the book explaining how its done. but its so clever, the way its put together and how it doesn't waste any fabric. im just about to make my own version!! exciting Cheesy
hope this is what you're looking for.
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / batwing jacket 1980s pattern on: August 12, 2009 07:45:08 AM

i found a pattern in my local op shop from the 80s, and i seemed really clever and easy. but it turned out wayy to big, so i added a colar, cuffs and lining, and wear it as a jacket, instead of a shirt.

The sleeves are hilarious, but soo comfortable!! the inside is spotty. im still yet to put buttons on the front :/ i think ill make it double breasted, so its more fitted around waist.

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Hippie vest with flower prints! on: August 12, 2009 07:35:14 AM
cute, i love vests. i think i have an obsession with them hehe. I'm trying to find a pattern that fits well with out having to use darts(because i am sick of sewing them) does this one have them?
also do u mean like interfacing to make the vest stiffer?
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / drape-e tiedyed jersey top on: August 12, 2009 07:30:27 AM
My friend loved this kind of top in a store but they didnt have her size, so i made it for her bday Cheesy

its got a singlet base, then two sort of folds around each side. i used platted fabric for the straps.

i absolutely hate sewing knit fabrics, but after realising my machine has a stretch stitch setting, it became much easier. but the sides were a pain to get to sit right.

and the back of it.
thanks for looking Smiley
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help me figure this out? PLZ on: April 20, 2009 07:34:43 AM
preetttty, the skirt would be easy to make, but because of the shape of the bust and its strapless, there are lots of patterns around that have the heart shape neckline, but you might have to add lots of interfacing or padding to get it to stay that shape ? i would love to see it if you figure it out

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Ruffle Collar Cuff o(^_^o)(o^_^)o on: April 20, 2009 07:16:30 AM
looks like two legths of thick fabric(one for each side) joined at front and at back so it sits flat over shoulders with "v" neck (and v at back of neck). then the fabric is just pleated forward every 3 or 4 cms by about 3 cms and sewed down with 2 parallel lines.
hope i helped !
