Very nice plaid.  Excellent job!
12  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re:Where to find big wooden boxes? (storage ottoman) on: March 09, 2004 11:30:25 AM
If you're going to upholster it and  completely cover it, then maybe you could use one of those big rubbermaid containers.   It's not really recycling unless you already have one... but they're often on sale for really cheap.

On the other hand, it might not be sturdy enough...
13  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re:cheap picture frames? on: March 09, 2004 11:25:13 AM
American Science & Surplus www.sciplus.com has frames (no glass or mounting hardware) for $1 each in a few varieties (wood, plastic, etc.).  It's a good way to get a lot of them cheap, if you're not concerned about the glass bit...

Otherwise, I second the vote for $1 stores.

I'd love to see a picture of the ice cube chandelier.   It sounds amazing!  Were they made of acrylic?

There are lots on ebay

or try

I'm not sure those are the right material for sticking pins in.  You could also slap on a coat of magnetic paint... it makes Anything a bulletin board.

I really like the green fabric- is it linen?
17  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re:zippered pouches with embroidered icons (get organized!) on: February 25, 2004 08:57:51 AM
The icons are very cute... you did a great job on them!
18  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / Re:Crafty trip to Michael's, anyone? on: February 11, 2004 09:01:41 AM
Where on Long Island is it?  How would a person such as myself get there from the LIRR?

I agree, Domo-kun is FANTASTIC.  Those are really great, you did a good job.  I'm inspired to make a purse...

I'd be interested if you ever go again-  I didn't see this post until now...

On a related note, has anyone tried to go to the Michael's on SI?  I was wondering if it's easy to get to from public transport.
