Thank you SkyyAngel. Glad you like it!

Miffy:
You need copper foil tape, flux, and lead-free solder.  Wink

Thanks Cullenshield. I guess that's what 4 years of art school can do for you. I'm a pencil pusher at heart.

The ship is my favorite too!

They are soldered. I added little bubbles of solder on the frame for the seahorse one.

I make book purses, and just recently I decided that I wanted to do something with the pages that I end up putting in the recycle box. So I started collecting images from the books and I finally started putting them to use!

Thanks nykole!
I've actually never seen a scorpion in real life.  Sad But I guess if I was finding them here and there in my house, I wouldn't like them much.

A sharp nail.
My uncle never used etching solution, and I figured I'd try it exactly the way he does it.

So I have an uncle who etches artwork onto mirrors. Mostly things like dragons and unicorns. He gave me a large mirror with a roman warrior on it and it was always something I wanted to try myself. It inspired me, although on a smaller scale, to try etching my own mirrors.

Hope you all like them!

30  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dreadlocks on: August 01, 2008 08:31:23 PM
These days I don't really get any hassle at all. Most people love my hair. All of my family does too and I only get compliments from them. Lucky I guess. I do get stares a lot from people when I'm in public, but I don't know if they are bad or good. I'm thinking it's mostly because I live in a small city and I like to sometimes put all my dreads in a huge behive-type thing which looks like this crazy weave and people are probably just curious. I think most of the time people stare it is just curiosity...

When they were younger I used to get a lot of people asking me "why did you do that to your hair?" probably because they were super fluffy, short, crazy, and just starting out. I would then ask them "Why did you do THAT to your hair?" Most of them say "Because I like it." Then I just smile and say "Exactly."
