91  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / These penguins will not march, tap dance, or even surf. on: July 25, 2007 03:14:35 PM
i have a friend who LOVES penguins.
and loves is an understatement.
lets say is obsessed...
(she has a penguin swimsuit for pitys sake! lol)
she just turned 17, and i felt bad for missing her party
(worked late, boyfriend issues, and a friend home from germany all thrown at me in one day)
so i made her this!
(and i was so happy it was NOT holiday oriented.  i was afraid all i would be able to find was penguins with christmas trees or something)

and the WIP pictures:

pockets!

inside of pockets

said pockets attatched to lining

i used the same pattern that I used for http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=185045 (my "storybook romance" bag) and adapted a piece from a different pattern that i've used before to create the zipper piece at the top (i think i made it a little too big, which is why it has the curving effect. Tongue)

and she loved it!

93  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / storybook romance bag [a true story!] with IMGS! on: July 23, 2007 11:17:15 AM
i've been a deviantart member for years.
and have always watched a certain artist's work
her url is:http://cippow25.deviantart.com/
and finally gave in and have her do a commission.
based off two pictures:

and

me, and my sweetheart at our senior ball.
over a year ago obviously. Tongue
but still, the best night of my high school life.
and with those, she made

and i made this:

i had to BS the bag putting together.
because, well, i lost the second page of instructions.
so the bag is 89% my sewing (and hope that it works)
and 11% simplicity.
i used pattern #3822 view E
added in the picture
discarded the outside pocket(s)
changed the quilting on it from straight lines to cute squiggles
inside pockets still intact.
fudged the zipper like no other
i may have changed the straps.
but again, i dont know what they were originally supposed to be Tongue
and it has a piece of that plastic canvas stuff in the bottom
hopefully to keep it more upright.

and a lousy action shot.

oh, and the artwork is printed out on june taylor colorfast sew-in ink jet fabric sheets (a super wonderful creation, might i add)

any comments would be superb!
94  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / harry potter and fall out boy? say what?! on: July 12, 2007 12:46:33 PM
i made these shirts for me and my best friend when the last harry potter movie came out.
(which was in my before craftster days)
since we had a suprise party seeing the fifth movie for her step sister
i found it all the more fitting to wear mine.
she got red icee on hers the last time, some kid ran into her, and we havent been able to wash them because of the back transfer

yay theaters.
(not the best friend)

afterwards at home.

front.  potter posse for the win
hers was green. she got the slytherin shirt.

bart skull on the hip region
(clandestine industries anyone?)

and the glorious back
mind you, i've grown out of the fall out boy obsession
its one of those iron on transfers that you do on the ink jet.
but since it was basically two different sections
i just put it all under stencilling

any comments would be fantastic.
this isnt my best stencilling job
but i figured i'd show what i've got!

and one more theater shot
(this is the best friend Cheesy)
making me look pale as ever Tongue

96  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / MIL thank you card on: July 06, 2007 10:14:19 PM
well, shes basically my mother in law.
my boyfriend's mom, that is
i still concider him my boyfriend despite the "not dating situation"
i made her and his dad this thank you card
for being so kind towards me for the past year and a half
and allowing me into their how
despite all my mistakes and everything
(we got the sex talk from her... long story)
but in the mean time
she's been there for me
and he has informed me many times that his parents do love me
and care about me.
and so today i took a card over to their house
(we've been "not dating" for a month today)
and she was in shock that we werent
which led to basically a 45 minute talk about everything
and the parents saw me cry Sad
needless to say, they are going to talk to him
and see whats going through his head
to end a perfectly good relationship without any logical reasons.
and enough of my babbling.
heres the card

the picture is one that my dad took on our santa cruz vacation last year, with little sticker hearts, and my lousy writing around it.
it was addressed to "my second set of parents"
and they really liked it.
[his] dad teased her and asked if it made her cry...

thanks for looking
and reading the babble
97  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / "congratulations" cards for teacher emily's dancers IMGx7 on: June 28, 2007 04:26:44 PM
so i was never into card making...
until i started scrapbooking.
i made these cards using pictures from the recital performance of my little dancers.
and today will be the first class that gets to recieve their cards.
i still have one set of cards to do
since i had printer problems at wal mart Sad
(i'll also post the picture thats on the card so you can see it)

actual images

was cropped... (and i'm the big one! lol)

(their dances were "my little girl by tim mcgraw and "dont worry be happy" by bobby mcferrin)

and my mouseketeers  Grin
(they were also in the "my little girl" dance, as well as "mickey mouse march")

any comments or feedback would be apprecitated!
(my first time making cards.  and posting on this section!)

http://i16.tinypic.com/62envxs.jpg

99  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Q: What do you get when you cross a cat with a lemon? on: June 27, 2007 11:35:08 PM
A: a sour puss!
my sister commonly uses that joke in her ventriloquist acts.
and i thought it all the more appropriate for these bags!
cats and lemons!
plus their coordinating zipper pouches
only one bag has the inside pocket...
i ran out of fabric, and our hancock is basically a ghost town
now that its closing (or closed even)

and the bags!

group shot!

one set is going to my sister
the other is possibly an etsy attempt...  Undecided

any comments and feedback would be appreciated
100  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / i'm actually needing help! -its about a boy- on: June 24, 2007 09:56:11 PM
okay.
so i've got the "my boyfriend and i are going through a difficult time" blues.
we arent broken up, and he hasnt pulled the "we need to start seeing other people" deal, but i'm just bummed out!
he still loves me, and i know that.
but sometimes, it just gets to me that i havent seen him lately.

i kinda want to make him something to show that i'm still head over heels for him him.
i've done the scrapbook.
i've done him a quilt and tshirt.
i've given him pictures

any ideas would be great.
i sew, and i dont do anything yarn related.
if you need more info on the boy, just let me know
(thats him in my user pic)
