1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / music themed triangle quilt on: July 31, 2014 10:47:06 PM
i wish i could come up with a much cooler name for this quilt, but i can't.
my siblings have gone to music camp for years, and this was year two of the camp deciding to have a quilt raffle to help raise money.
after trying to draw up inspiration, and then seeing waggonswest's alphabet blues quilt, i just loved the triangle idea.  i found a "quilt along" put on by the sassy quilter, and followed her directions as to how to achieve this quilt in a lap-ish size.  i followed the same quilting lines as waggonswest, and whelp.  here is the end result! (complete with cat fur that just would NOT go away)

as always, more (bigger) photos for this quilt over on it's own blog post.  click here for that!

2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / winnie the pooh daisy chain quilt on: July 31, 2014 10:40:47 PM
hello again craftster!
time for another influx of completed quilts Smiley
this one was a gift for a dear friend of mine who just had her first baby boy.
i made her this quilt for her wedding back in 2011, and after much deliberation decided to do the same pattern but in smaller scale for her little man but in a boyish winnie the pooh theme to go with her nursery.  i couldn't be more pleased with how the colors flowed together, as well as not being too in your face about having disney characters all over it.

more (bigger) photos over on the blog!  check it out here
daisy chain pattern can be found right here
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Craft Swaps / Re: Quilt Block Swap Round 6 (Sign ups through August 9, Sendouts October 20) on: July 15, 2014 02:10:00 PM
Oh the garden fence was gorgeous, I have to remember to pick that sometime... This time I'm going with a simple cat block, and just being very complicated about size vs amount, like taught by the paint blocks experience Cheesy
i did the catvent last december and those blocks are awesome!
are you just planning for the basic block, or the "named" ones from the pattern?

Thanks for the colors heads up, Sloth. Guess I need to track down more gray fabrics. Oh, the pain of having to buy more fabric! Tee-hee!!
boy i hate reasons to buy fabric Wink

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Quilt Block Swap Round 6 on: June 29, 2014 07:01:47 PM
yesssss.  i am totally interested!
i can also help organize if needed.
i've been away from swapping far too long, and this is just the way i'd like to come back in Smiley
i think that time frame would work.  i'm out of state for a week in august and then school starts, but with that long of a crafting time, it should work good for me
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Scalloped Border Lunacy! on: June 26, 2014 11:35:53 PM
those scalloped edges look awesome!
any tips for a first timer that might want to try something of the sort?
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: The one I didn't want to give away on: June 26, 2014 06:42:23 PM

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: "the modern baby" quilt on: June 26, 2014 06:41:22 PM
This is beautiful!  I love the colors and your stitching is fantastic!

thanks so much!
i've been way appreciating these smaller quilts that have given me a lot of practice time on my quilting lines Smiley

That IS a very pretty quilt. I love the colors, too. And a very interesting binding. I have never thought to do them that way. I know baby's Momma will love it! And later it can be used as a wall hanging for baby {toddler} girls room, when she "outgrows" it. Or it just might end up her favorite "binkie" and she will not outgrow it.  Grin She just might take it to college! I know I would...for a lap blanket/stadium throw. Roll Eyes

it turned out to be bigger than i expected, but that's always good in this case so that it can be used for many many years Smiley
