71  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Bernat LuLu on: July 12, 2006 08:06:16 AM
I just bought a couple skeins of Bernat LuLu yarn at Walmart because it was half price. Now I'm not sure what to do with it.  Undecided Anyone have ideas or patterns? There are patterns on the label but they are all hats.

I can't wait to see how it turns out. I've been looking at patterns forever and there's always something I don't quite like. I'm a pretty new knitter so I'm a tad timid about trying to alter anything yet. LOL I like the SnB Chinese Charm Bag but I'd like something that would go over my shoulder. Not long straps but so it goes just under my armpit.

Locutus,
I just found your post and wondered how the bag came out. I had seen this pattern as well and also wanted something bigger but had NO IDEA how to make it wider. Would you mind telling us what you did and if it worked Grin

Thanks Knitchick. I ended up doing a backstitch and it worked pretty well. My seaming s*cks though!

 knitchick2,
What was your technique for the trim?
I wish I knew someone who knits cuz I would love to see someone sew one of these up from the start to the finish. I'm not real happy with my seaming and I'm not sure about the best way to weave in the ends. I'm not sure I'm doing it right and am afraid it will come apart. I've watched videos and stuff but it's not quite the same as seeing it in person. Smiley

Hi, I'm new here and pretty new to knitting. I started these booties but I'm having trouble getting the trim to look nice. I was thinking about trying the crocheting on like someone posted a while back. I don't know how to crochet though and definitely don't know how to go about crocheting the trim onto the bootie. Can anyone explain this to me or give me a place to research?
Also, how is everyone seeming these? Which color are you using? Do you use one color or do you use the coresponding color? I didn't leave enough tail for any of them. I wasn't thinking. Embarrassed
