1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Re: Custom Diabetic Handbag on: October 14, 2010 07:42:52 AM
This is cool. I've been wondering how to make a purse with an outside zippered pocket like that. I want to be able to add slots for credit cards and a section for paper money and maybe a change pocket kind of like a wallet incorporated into the purse. Any chance for a tute on this pocket?

Shelli, Did you ever finish the purse and the skin?  I am very interested in seeing the finished product and to know how you did it!!! Or, can we make our own skins for the miche bag?

That was actually wtpdesigns that was working on one of these. I just posted that I would love to her pictures. Hope she's still around. I'd still be interested in this.

I used the fantastic iris1617's tute for her belt bag for the freedom of all hands, found here

Very cute. The link took me to a quilt though.

I'll take anything I can get. How are you at drawing? lol

Although we are anxiously awaiting a tute, just take your time and do what you need to do ... we appreciate anything you can give us! thanks!

I totally agree!

Thanks for the encouragement!  I finished the wallet and took pics along the way.  I just need to write it up now.  I'm glad people still want it! Grin

Great!! I've been stalking the board watching for it! I'm sure there's lots of people who love this!
TIA!

I'm making another one right now and am trying to take pics and notes as I go along.  I'm not sure if I'll do a full tut, I've never done one and find it quite intimidating!  However I will post a mini tut/general directions. Wink

Just wondering how this is going. Can't wait to see it. I would be intimidated to do a tute too so anything you can show us would be wonderful!

I've altered your pattern somewhat & have been making kid's lunch bags.  I use Insul-brite in the "box" section of the bag attached to the inside of the outer fabric, to keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold.  I use clear shower curtain liner basted over the liner fabric to match my outer fabric.  They are a little small but perfect for preschoolers!  I've made a couple for my grandkids.  Once I've reached 10 posts I will post pictures of the bags.

Looking forward to seeing these!! Sounds cute!

Wallet part itself?  You mean the whole thing?  It's my design (apart from the Bradley inspiration obviously!) so no there is no existing tut out there right now.  I'm making another one right now and am trying to take pics and notes as I go along.  I'm not sure if I'll do a full tut, I've never done one and find it quite intimidating!  However I will post a mini tut/general directions. Yeah the whole thing. LOL I'd sure appreciate the tute/mini tute. This seems to have everything I'd want, which doesn't happen often!  Wink But I don't even know where to start. Can't wait to see your next one!!
Thanks.
