It HAS been a rough swap period... I had surgery and getting my son in a good place after is IED attack... but my Swap partner certainly cheered me up and it looks like things are in a good place now!

I'd love to do another swap like this again

..abstract WOULD be good... my forte in art is a bunny from the backside... although my kids would get a kick out of behind bunny dinnerware.....

This peep of mine on another board crocheted all of her goodies for the trick or treaters... how motivated is that?Huh??
..I just get really really distracted... I start something and then see something else I HAVE to try...

Can't wait to see your mummy CD..

..Perfect for me!  I can be such a big procrastinator..the minute I "have" to do something it becomes a chore and then I don't want to do it...

I have two felted pillows to finish up
a couple of T-shirts to transfer on ( easy peasy if I get off my hiney and do it)

AND the biggie... 18 travel mugs to personalize... I ordered them from Oriental trading Co..the kind with paper linings to decorate... well... I was going to put fabric and some embroidery  as the liners and pass them out as the drink glasses at the family Christmas party....

I also need to finish two pillow cases for our bedroom... we are in the midst of a remodel and the only thing left is the floor  so I need to get these done pacey pacey...

then of course there is the big idea of crocheting stockings for all 18 folks at the family get together...

.. then of course there is the new craft I want to try... there is a shop in the same strip mall where my son has Spanish class ..any how.. the shop has this ceramicware you can paint and they fire it for you... how fun to do a popcorn bowl for my dh for Christmas... except I have never done anything like this before and my painting skills have always been zip....

So... I also need a good car project as we leave for the beach tomorrow for 3 days and I have 3 hours of travel to get there.... probably will take a crochet project ...something I don't have to think about much ..might do soap savers for the local VA hospital to stick in the Christmas boxes...

I'll update when I actually DO something... I have a famous talent for lists.... action... not so much....

I think grandmas are just better at everything!  I tried very hard with my embroidered dish towel that I made for Katz but when I received the one she made for me I realized what quality was.  That's ok.  Katz is the type of person to appreciate the fact that someone made it for her!   Smiley

Gosh~ you're making me blush!!  I thought your work was quite good!  Remember I have quite a few years on you!!!
when I was a little girl I self imposed sampler work on myself... We lived in an area where there weren't very many children so I took to reading biographies & ahem... the daughter of Laura Ingels Wilder came and spoke to my 4th grade class and I became hooked on those too... ( I'm verging on older then dirt) so my mom made these pioneer dress up clothes for me and my dad made a little three legged stool and I would sit by our 1960's everybody had to have one electric fire place and  embroidery to my hearts content...stopping only to drink hot tea with milk and cookies for my dolls and I..... sooooooo...I've had a TON of practice!!!! Grin

Now, how cool are those napkins with the leaves on them?Huh?

OK everyone... here is the link to the basket that krazy4katz made me. Be prepared to be jealous... this is one of the coolest swap gifts ever:

http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=257794.msg2884245#msg2884245

actually the berries I used were poke weed berries... I knew after I sent it I wrote china berries... but it was good old poke weed... they used to use the crushed berries for ink in colonial times... I have dyed cotton fabric with it too and get an awesome color... here is a link to a picture of it Pokeweed http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pokeweed  the onion skins give it a reddish orange tint that I thought would look good with the coffee...

Basketry is a lost art form any more... I teach two classes a year at Pullen art Center in Raleigh trying to introduce the art form back .... for along time I would go into classrooms as the artist in residence program until budget cuts...

If you ever have a chance to use natural dyes for fabric or yarn or even easter eggs I say go for it... a bit time consuming but alot of fun...

Glad you liked it... that one picture on your blog really inspired me to weave it... and so I suppose we should call the piece Adams....

I wove it before my surgery and it was great form of relaxation to have the rhythm of the weaving comfort me...
