11  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / what to do with my new toy? on: September 27, 2006 08:16:52 AM
Hi all!  I just received a drop spindle plus about 4 oz of fibers for my birthday last week.  I also got a book called Spin It! to help me figure this out.  Well, I got a nice 4 inch section of yarn all spun when I noticed that I have a HUGE twisted mess all the way up on the rest of the wool.  I have NO CLUE what to do, but I really am excited and interested in making my own yarn.

Any suggestions?  Ideas?  Tips?

Thanks!

13  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / cabled newsboy question on: July 27, 2006 02:22:40 PM
I just finished my first cabled newsboy hat.  It turned out really well (I can add pics later when I upload them), but you can kinda see the plastic mesh through the stitching on the brim.  What can I do to disguise this?  Any ideas?
