41  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Pop Up Paws on: November 01, 2006 05:38:54 AM
I am SO glad to see these finished!  I just got this pattern not long ago, and I haven't decided on a yarn yet.  Out of curiosity, how much yardage did it take?  I have some Rowan Yorkshire Tweed (in all kinds of different weights) but only have about 2 balls of each color.  It'd be cool  if I could use that!

Nice work!  They are so cute!

Thanks so much!  I wore it again tonight and everyone loved it!

Please contact me if you'd like to purchase/swap for a Leia hat.  It was fun to knit!  I'm looking for some other pics from the party showing my dress a tad better.

Indeed.  And, yes, it's fun, but ever so hot!  Smiley

I got the pattern from bleuarts.blogspot.com and sported my new 'do with my husband, Luke Skywalker (yeah, I know that's weird) to our Halloween party!

More antics of the costume on the blog.

46  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Santa Hat! (w/link to free pattern! Yay!) on: October 30, 2006 06:01:57 AM
Rock!  I'll make one of these for my brother-in-law.  He LOVES Santa and dressed up like him for our Halloween party!

Thanks for all the support!  I didn't use the recommended yarn.  It was recommended to use Misti Alpaca Chunky, and it would require at least 2 skeins of it.  I have used that yarn before, and it is just so soft and wonderful, but I couldn't justify the investment for a costume item.  So, I got some craft store acrylic (worsted weight) and knitted with two strands as a sub.

Oh, and it's NOT too late if you're trying to make this for Halloween.  It seriously didn't take me long at all.

Oh, nice!  I love it.  Don't feel too bad about the yarn -- I just gifted some baby sweaters and I could hardly part with them worrying about whether or not they would care for them properly.  I'm still nervous!

Wow, that's just gorgeous.  I don't usually go in on the knitted dresses or skirts, but I am speechless.  Nice work!
50  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / the leia hat on: October 29, 2006 05:04:49 PM
Since it is the Halloween season, I decided to knit the Leia buns.  Smiley  The coolest and warmest hat I have EVER worn!  Plus it was a fun costume.  Campy and funny but still cool!  I got the pattern from bleuarts.blogspot.com.
