4  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: MYB Round 15 Gallery on: December 14, 2011 05:15:18 PM
Thanks for organising this swap Oyhana. Smiley

I received a gorgeous MYB from bubblegum_phoenix a couple of weeks ago now... (it feels like a month ago; I've had to move a bit unexpectedly and had a few other life things going on). I'm so sorry to have taken so long to post pictures and I hope bubblegum_phoenix doesn't think I am being ungrateful - I loved everything.

Here is the box when I first opened it, with a very cute penguin ami guarding it Cheesy

A doctor who owl necklace which I've been wearing a lot. I've been getting heaps of compliments on it, ranging from "wow, isn't that cute" from people who have never watched the new Doctor Who, to incredibly high-pitched squees from some of my friends.

Some more of the contents -- a felt phone cozy; moisturiser and body wash; a mini sheep hoopla; a wind chime; coasters with New Zealand birds on them; also a bead necklace which is hidden under the coasters.

Close up of the hoopla (with little sheep made of french knots):

Here is a picture of everything (except for a pair of crocheted slippers which I forgot I was wearing, so had to photograph seperately). As well as the items already pictured there is a bubble blower; fridge magnets with different sayings on them (including "well behaved women rarely make history" Smiley); a little cross stitched frigde magnet with a china frame; a notepad with a tiki on it; a yellow star shaped washcloth; NZ magnetic poetry; a geisha doll which turns into a little electric fan; a really pretty mug; and the yarn - which is a really soft wool, alpaca and possum blend.

And last, but not least, the slippers, which are very comfy, and useful, cause even though it's going into summer here, it has been a bit chilly at night. Smiley (and sorry about my ugly feet!)

Thanks so, so much bubblegum_phoenix, there was so much thought and skill that went into the handmade items. I'm looking forward to starting my mitts, and will let you know how the yarn goes!

It's an adorable hoop, and so well done! Love the story behind it too Smiley.

Your parcel is lovely. The contents are great.
Why is Quinnn not living with me?  Dunno where you live but the climate here suits her better, I'm sure! She's adorable.

I agree she is adorable! Not sure where you live Smallhold, but Quinn looks pretty well suited to the climate in NZ's South Island. Smiley

Glad you liked the MYB and that it made it to you intact, bubblegum_phoenix Smiley

I'm quite envious of USPS' traking system, but I can imagine it could also be very torturous when you are expecting a tracked item and it doesn't arrive. lol

Love the button hoopla! and the yarn looks beautiful. Have fun unwrapping the rest of your MYB Annchen, can't wait so see what else is in there.  Smiley

Hi everyone,

I've been a really bad swapper - I was sick all of last week and haven't posted pics of the ATCs that I received from imera.

She sent 2, and they are really beautiful. The one on the left is for my Mexican folk art theme, which imera based on a design she saw on a vase once, and the one on the right is for my obscure fairy tales theme:

I was actually reading a book called 'Tender Morsels' when I received the cards, which is loosely based on the story of Rose Red and Snow White, only I hadn't realised it until I got imera's card and looked the story up. Smiley

Thanks so much imera, I love them!
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ancient Cultures Swap 2 Gallery on: November 09, 2011 10:02:09 PM
Hi everyone,

NatACT has been having camera troubles (I sympathise - my camera was out of action for a couple of months and it drove me mad), so I'm posting pics from the angel package I sent.

Nat's chosen culture was Egypt, so I made her an Isis hoopla:

A fimo cartouche necklace (which I'm hoping spells NAT - I used a heiroglyphs-alphabet translation I found online):

And a senet board:
