hey y'all!

so earlier today, i posted derby baby booties, which is a gift for my expecting friend, however, i knew if i didn't tell someone i was making them, i'd accidentally let it slip and tell her - so i told my friend toni (another girl on my derby team) & made her my 'secret-keeper' (yay harry potter nerds) so as a thank you, i made her some baby booties!



however, since she is not expecting (happily, i dare say so!) i decided the full sized ones would be a little less than useful.



so i made her little ornaments! they're attached by the tail, so they can be put on a xmas tree, or a car rearview mirror, or really whatever she'd like, i'm not picky.

i also made some for myself, because they were so damn adorable. and instead of knitting wheels, pom-poms were a lot easier :0)

so i hope you liked them, as well as my grandparents fantastic couch slipcovers!

so one of the girls from my league (Garden State Rollergirls) announced she was pregnant, and even though i'll miss her like whoa, i figured it was time for my first EVER knit using a pattern - as scary as it was at first!



so it's totally from 'Knockdown Knits' from Joan of Dark/Joan Carr but the colors are my league's colors, just to remind Jet that she can't leave us!



so i hope you like them, Jet ADORED them and showed them off to everyone at practice - now everyone would like me to make adult sized ones, so i'll keep you posted!

Garden State Rollergirls

i adore amy sedaris, and she came out with this book "I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence"

and if you dig strangers with candy, chances are you get the humor she has in there. while its not a book only of crafts, there's party planning, recipes, etc. i already decorated lighters for my brother for xmas, like she suggested in her book and they turned out amazing :0)

i saw this book & while its hardcover (peace out $$) its still amazing and i highly recommend.

so having the whole college thingie start, i didnt want to carry a purse AND a backpack, but i needed something to hold my i.d. and a little bit o' cash (when i do get some) so after being inspired by craftster, i came up with this:



i used to bring a deck of cards to school, and my friends & i would play a round of chinese war, or poker, or something silly (go fish!) if a sub or study was assigned, but after a while, i lost some of the cards! so then the pack became a prop for the school play, and i'm sure i lost more, so i had about 47 cards that werent a great help to me.






and it has an "accordian" type set up, so there is the main part, then the id and the "secret pocket" opposite the main section.

so I lovedthis teeshirt, but after years of wear, tear, and well, puberty, i hadnt been able to wear it but havent been able to throw it out either. so inspired by the book 'tease' and by my new addiction to craftster, i tried it out.

didnt have a 'before' pic, but it was the color of the shade with orange ringers around the sleeves and collar.

the 'tease' way was to cut out the image, and sew it on to a different tee, but loving the color too much, i just tried to freeball it, if you will, and cut the collar & sleeve rings, and sewed them along the top for a cleaner, more pro edge.



its on a eiffel tower lamp, and i just sewed the shirt (it was too thin to survive on its own!) over the original shade, which was white, bland and boring.
