1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: My first pillowcases on: November 09, 2008 08:01:52 AM
I like them  Grin
Maybe I should try and make some pillows too

thanks <3

and you should definitely try to make some!! they're super easy to sew
for a 40x40 cm pillow I took 2 identical pieces of fabric 42x45 cm (1cm seam allowance on 3 sides ; 4 cm for the buttons and buttonholes; for thicker pillows I'd recommend ~6cm for the buttons)

They're pretty.. basic Wink
I love how they turned out though!

fabric is from IKEA
didn't use any tutorials, I just took a close look at old pillowcases (the dotted pillows used to be striped before)
It was quite hard for me to find out how the whole button/buttonhole-thing would work Cheesy My first real projects after about 1.5 years of not sewing anything

this one is my favourite

I messed it up :/ I wanted the application to be on the other side of the pillowcase

I've been sewing this after 6 hours of crafting (it was round 1.30 am at that time).. please don't take a closer look Cheesy

wow so great! I'm thinking of doing the same to an old (too short) h&m pullover, did you just cut down and then add the bias tape?

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Shrug black fleece Kitty Cat!!! on: January 04, 2007 12:56:33 PM
I saw this cute dino shrug here at craftster unfortunately it was without a tut. Well yesterday I decided to make a similar shrug for myself and because I love kittycats, mine has ears and a cute white/pink lining.
Here are two pictures (action shots ^^) the flash light on the first one is a bit to bright but you can see the shrug pretty well.

please ignore the stupid look ^^ I'm so tired. This thing took me about five hours.

the hood came out a bit too big - I don't really like it but well it was my first try ^^
tell me what you think.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / shrug meets hoodie? on: January 03, 2007 08:35:35 AM
Hey!
Just a short question: I want to make a shrug out of black fleece and I want to add a hood. How do I do it? I've never sewn anything like that so far.
Help me please! ^^
