1  Re: ANOTHER Pin Cushion Swap Round 10 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by jemmy on: January 25, 2009 07:46:37 PM
Here are pictures of the pin cushion I received from Tygir. I didn't give her a lot of ideas but she still managed to make the perfect pin cushion for me. The top is patchwork (I'm a quilter) and I love the muted colors. She even stitched my initial on it. I think it's hand-embroidered but it looks professionally done.

I promise that the top is not wrinkled in real life. It's about five inches across and deep enough that my extra-long pins don't stick out of the bottom and poke me. Oh--and she included some of her favorite tea for me.

Thank, Tygir  Smiley I love my pin cushion. I should be finished with yours later this week.

2  Re: Holiday Ornament Swap Gallery (Sendouts: 12/12/08) in The Swap Gallery by jemmy on: December 27, 2008 07:58:54 PM
I want to apologize to HippieKender for not posting pictures sooner. It was her first swap and she made beautiful ornaments and even sent them early. But now my new ornaments are proudly on my tree. On to the pictures!

This is a picture of the pretty boxes my goodies came in. They're surrounded by a set of much-needed coasters and chocolate that was quickly eaten by my family.

First is a fabric covered ball. I love the colors and the twine.

I can't believe the work that went into this ornament. I've always wanted to make one myself but have been too intimidated to try. Most of the beads are silver but the beads at the "intersections" are blue to match the glass ball. It doesn't show up in the picture.

I knew from stalking researching HippieKender that she's talented with polymer clay. This ornament is adorable.

And finally, my son's favorite one--the cutest felt animal. Moose or reindeer? We can't agree but we do agree that it's cute.  Smiley

Thank you, HippieKender, for the wonderful package. This was my second swap and I had great fun again. I hope you did, too. Thanks to Craftastrophe for organizing. I've enjoyed all the ornaments so far. It would be hard to pick a favorite.

I think I have this figured out enough to finally post pictures of the goodies babalina58 sent.

First is a tin Wizard of Oz sign. I've always wanted one of these but was too frugal (cheap) to buy one.

Next, a Dorothy tote bag. I love tote bags and use them all the time. This will be a great addition.

A little tote with Wizard of Oz note cards. They're too cute to send to anyone. I want to frame them instead. Front and back of the tote:

The cards:

And I didn't see the jewelry at first because they were in a little bag tucked in with the cards. I love them.

And I can't believe I forgot to take pictures of one of my favorite things. Babalina58 sent me pre-cut quilt squares for a lap quilt. The fabrics are Glinda on a light background and her wand on a pink background. I took the fabric out to see if it matched a third fabric and forgot to take pictures. I'll post pics later.

Thanks, babalina58, for being a great partner. This is my first swap and I was nervous but now I see why you love swapping so much. I just hope you like the things I sent you. Thanks again for everything. I love it all!

My package is finally on its way to babalina58! Thank you, partner, for being so patient. Because I've never posted pictures, I'm trying a couple of teaser pics for you. I'm still working on resizing my pics of the things you sent me.

Let's see if this works  Smiley  Sorry if the second one is big. I'm still trying to figure this out.
