The pattern is Simplitcity 3538, it is one of the project runway.  It wasn't hard the instructions were good.  I made one change with the lining, instead of using bias tape around the armholes I sewed on the sleeves leaving the lining for the body free, then I stitched the lining by hand to hide the seam. 
The black fabric is a poly blend, it looks so much like leather.  It washes really nice too, no ironing!

I just finished a couple of short waisted jackets using the same pattern.  The top jacket has a gather under the front yoke and a ruffle sleeve.  I made some piping for detail in the front yoke, breaks up the busy print.  The black jacket has a flat front and straight sleeves.  Both are fully lined.  I found some awesome big buttons in the used clothing store for them.
