1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / green and brown gingham jumper! on: November 07, 2007 05:44:27 PM

My very first machine-sewn garment! I love it.
The sizing was a bit messed up, as I had to take off about 1 1/4 inches on each side to get it to fit, but other than that making it was really enjoyable.
I used McCall's pattern M5313 and made view A.

Thanks for looking!
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / clementine on: September 25, 2007 05:50:12 PM

Pattern: Clementine Shawlette from Spring '07 IK
Yarn: 90% Wool/10% Angora recycled from a thrift store sweater (about DK-weight)
Needles: Size 6 circulars

This was a nice pattern to work and the grafting worked out surprisingly well for a perfectionist like me. I'm looking forward to wearing this cozy shoulder wrap around the house on what will probably be many rainy days here this fall and winter.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Endpaper Mitts on: September 21, 2007 05:26:45 PM

Pattern: Endpaper Mitts by Eunny Jang
Yarn: Louet Gems Pearl, one skein each of Lilac and Cream
Needles: Size 1 and 2 Brittany DPNs

This was my first successful attempt at colorwork, and I'm really happy with them.

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / brea on: August 07, 2007 02:50:04 PM
Not much, just a cute little purse I made as a birthday present for my friend Anna:

Pattern: Brea Bag, from Berrocco
Yarn: Cascade 220 Heathers, color 9413
Needles: My favorite Bryspun #9 24-inch circulars

This was a pretty fun and quick pattern to do, and I think she likes it!

Thanks for looking  Smiley
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / the Mitts. on: August 02, 2007 10:40:36 AM
Simply a pair of 'Dashing' fingerless mitts made for the birthday of a friend who I daresay I find quite dashing, also.

Detail shot of the hand:

Pattern: Dashing, from Spring 2007 Knitty
Yarn: Reynolds Ole-Ole
Needles: Size 7 DPNs

I had to modify the number of rows in between the cables because my row gauge was off, but otherwise, it was a fun pattern to work. I might have to make a pair of them for myself!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Lelah on: June 30, 2007 09:30:11 PM

(Please excuse my facial expressions)

Pattern: Lelah, by Christine Buhagiar
Yarn: Lion Brand Cotton Ease in Lake
Needles: US 6 (for the bodice and straps) and 8 (for the lace)
Mods: Smaller needles, straps, and single-crochet (to stabilize the top) instead of elastic.

More info and chronicles of progress on my blog, as always.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Mon Cheri Handbag w/ link to FREE pattern. on: June 11, 2007 10:02:06 PM
I made this last fall for the Knitty winter issue, but it was rejected and now I'm finally getting around to posting the pattern.

The pattern is here:

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cucumber-ish spring top EDIT: now the pictures actually show up! on: June 11, 2007 06:15:50 PM

I cast on for this in mid-October and worked on it on and off until February when  it threatened to consume me if I didn't finish it in time.
I threaded elastic string just above the eyelet row to make it fit better because I didn't really like the saggy look of the divider.

Pattern: basic top down raglan with a little bit of tweaking
Yarn: Blue Sky Organic Cotton in Willow, about 4 skeins
Needles: Bryspun 24" size 9 circulars

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Ysolda Teague's Lace Up Opera Gloves on: June 08, 2007 04:06:06 PM
I really liked this pattern.
These were for my friend Lizzy, who loves them!

Pattern: Lace Up Opera Gloves by Ysolda
Yarn: Spinnerin Alpine in a pretty yellow color
Time: a few days, I wasn't really paying attention to how long they took.

See my blog (specifically http://indieknits.wordpress.com/2007/06/08/almost-summer/) for more pictures and chronicles of progress, as always.

10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knit-blogging question: WIP progress bars?? on: May 29, 2007 04:07:33 PM
Okay, so I surf a lot of knitting blogs just about every day, and a lot of them have those nifty little progress bars in their sidebars of what they are currently making. The problem is, I can't find where anyone got them! Please help me!!
