1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Upholstery samples..What to do with? on: July 09, 2009 09:40:27 AM
I've made purses with mine. I also use the more durable samples to re-bottom slippers. Sounds silly, I know, but I love my slippers so much I will replace the bottoms as many times as I can until the rest falls apart.
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Re: great project big challenge on: July 09, 2009 09:30:45 AM
Soooo adorable!! Great job. (If you couldn't tell, I'm a BIG Eeyore fan)
3  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: broke as heck, ramen recipes? on: November 05, 2008 09:45:55 AM
I like to make the beef flavored ramen- I cut up a hard boiled egg into it. It's great if you're not a big meat-eater- you still get some protein!
4  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Cinnamon Roll trouble... on: September 26, 2008 09:49:39 AM
We flip our cinnamon rolls over immediately after taking them out of the oven- the brown sugar and butter combo hardens if you leave it in the pan. Hope this helps!
5  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: Used dryer sheets on: September 12, 2008 09:31:32 AM

I noticed the other day that they look a lot like fabric interfacing.  I haven't tried it yet but it might be useful as sew-on interfacing.

Yes! My mother-in-law uses them for interfacing. The less starchy ones work the best, if that makes any sense.

UPS says my partner received yesterday. I hope she likes everything (and takes pictures, because I forgot to!)
7  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Project Runway 5 (beg 7/16) on: July 24, 2008 09:01:15 AM
Was I the only one not inspired by any of the dresses last night? Suede's was kinda cool with the tulle skirt underneath, but all in all I was kinda bored!! I know it'll get more interesting when there are less designers left.
8  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Project Runway 5 (beg 7/16) on: July 17, 2008 05:43:50 AM
Wow- I was underwhelemed with most of the outfits. I did love the plastic cup one, and the woman who won MUST be a craftster- " i made hook and eyes out of a spiral notebook"!!!
What was up with what the really really tanned guy made? (I think his name is Blayne?) Great guggamugga!
I loved one of the dresses that Daniel had in his little portfolio- they showed it for about 2 seconds. It looked like it was made out of white and red playing cards. If anyone sees a picture of it, please let me know!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Getting hitched: Green style- help on: June 13, 2008 09:45:59 AM
Not sure if this will help- but my husband and I went the green route a couple of years ago. For favors, I found little tin pails, about 4 inches high, and planted ivy in each of them. It helped that I only had 30 guests though- it was a lot of work to plant each individual one.

This sounds like an awesome idea- I'm gonna think about what my 4 themes would be and sign up soon, I promise!!
