What about temari thread balls? Three or four together in a bowl are really effective, and though I've never tried to make them there are tutorials all over the web. Just google temari! Smiley
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Tiny House Swap Gallery on: February 21, 2009 03:49:12 PM
My house arrived! I just realised my partner and I are the last to recieve, so voila! Ritapizza and I bonded over Hayao Miyazaki films, so I received this incredible Spirited Away bathhouse! It's all made of felt, and there are tiny embroideries on the sides of different characters.

The front:

The back, with teeny tiny Haku the dragon embroidery:

The (somewhat blurry, sorry) side, with teeny tiny No Face embroidery. The big black blur is my cat, who covets the tiny house Smiley

Thanks so much ritapizza!

Despite illness throughout, veludo managed to send off a great package, that was totally worth the wait!

All wrapped up:

All unwrapped - a table runner, beautiful napkins, some cute bowls and the cutest handmade cupcake pincushion and beautification for the iPod.

Close up on the handmades!

Thanks so much for everything, veludo!

6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Favorite Color - Winter 2008 (signups closed; sendout by March 29) on: April 06, 2008 11:21:17 AM
My parcel was supposed to be redelivered on Saturday but it never showed so I had to re-arrange delivery AGAIN for Tuesday (they reckon it takes 48 hours) - DAMN Royal Mail!

Agh. I wondered about sending it registered mail, but there is no other way of getting a receipt of sending from the post office here Sad Sorry!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: old jeans transformed by Jujitsu embroidery on: April 02, 2008 09:49:16 AM
These are beautiful! I always keep my jeans when they start to wear out, but I never know what to do with them. This is such an original idea! Great work Smiley

Was it difficult to embroider the jeans material? It seems like it might be kinda hard to work with.
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Favorite Color Swap - Winter 2008 on: March 22, 2008 03:31:06 PM
Alright, brace yourselves - fantastic swap package alert! My favourite colour is green so, from littlebluegirl, I received:

Woolly items - a hat, fun swirly scarf and fingerless gloves, to keep me warm in my freakishly cold French town

A felted bowl and a glass votive candle holder, now adorning my windowsill

A bracelet, pincushion and needle book, with needles inside, which is fantastic for me cause I travel a lot, leaving a little trail of needles wherever I go...... (like Hansel and Gretel!)

And bonus! for being a cat owner Smiley

There is also a picture frame decoupaged with this nice geometric patterned paper, that I couldn't get a decent photo of Sad If you have one, littlebluegirl, please post it!
