1  Re: Tiny House Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by dazedllama on: February 21, 2009 03:49:12 PM
My house arrived! I just realised my partner and I are the last to recieve, so voila! Ritapizza and I bonded over Hayao Miyazaki films, so I received this incredible Spirited Away bathhouse! It's all made of felt, and there are tiny embroideries on the sides of different characters.

The front:

The back, with teeny tiny Haku the dragon embroidery:

The (somewhat blurry, sorry) side, with teeny tiny No Face embroidery. The big black blur is my cat, who covets the tiny house Smiley

Thanks so much ritapizza!

Despite illness throughout, veludo managed to send off a great package, that was totally worth the wait!

All wrapped up:

All unwrapped - a table runner, beautiful napkins, some cute bowls and the cutest handmade cupcake pincushion and beautification for the iPod.

Close up on the handmades!

Thanks so much for everything, veludo!

3  Re: Favorite Color Swap - Winter 2008 in The Swap Gallery by dazedllama on: March 22, 2008 03:31:06 PM
Alright, brace yourselves - fantastic swap package alert! My favourite colour is green so, from littlebluegirl, I received:

Woolly items - a hat, fun swirly scarf and fingerless gloves, to keep me warm in my freakishly cold French town

A felted bowl and a glass votive candle holder, now adorning my windowsill

A bracelet, pincushion and needle book, with needles inside, which is fantastic for me cause I travel a lot, leaving a little trail of needles wherever I go...... (like Hansel and Gretel!)

And bonus! for being a cat owner Smiley

There is also a picture frame decoupaged with this nice geometric patterned paper, that I couldn't get a decent photo of Sad If you have one, littlebluegirl, please post it!

4  Wedding Quilt of Doom - Finally finished! in Quilting: Completed Projects by dazedllama on: March 20, 2008 10:32:17 AM
This has been the project that ate my life for the last eight months - a wedding gift for my cousin, inspired by the book 'Scrappy Duos' (which is fabulous, btw). Finished at last:

It was my first machine pieced project, and maybe my points don't always line up just so, but you can't tell from far away! Hand quilted, cause I can do it in front of the TV. A close-up (which I picked for the perfect points!)

Thanks for looking! Smiley

5  Re: Favorite Color - Winter 2008 (signups end Feb. 29; sendout by March 29) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by dazedllama on: February 25, 2008 10:56:47 PM
I have be seeing a lot of inspiration photos in swap threads lately, so I thought why not here? Just to emphasize, neither of these pictures are of stuff crafted by me - I found them on flickr. Smiley They are from a colour swap done there.

I received my fabulous package from cheebs! First up, a cozy neck pillow, a hand bound journal with different kinds of paper, and a book of sudoku:

Then bonus! I got some great art supplies to use in my new journal, plus some photo corners. They all go in a vinyl lined bag. Props for sewing this, cheebs - I've tried working with vinyl before and it is impossible Smiley

I also got three magazines, which picture hosting is not letting me upload, sorry!

I am so spoiled!

7  Re: I <3 to sew swap! in The Swap Gallery by dazedllama on: February 22, 2008 10:28:02 AM
Thanks for the complimants, everyone! Now to what the lovely mini sent me:

the supplies - a thimble, stitch unpicker, marking pencil, some decorative thread and a little crafted bag to put it all in with a matching pincushion! The pattern is for several different styles of tote bag. She said she sent me things she can never find when she needs them, and obviously we are very unlike, cause I need all these things! Smiley

This fabulous cushion cover in really soft polar fleece, with a pieced appique made of Japanese fabrics, which are my favourite:

Unfortunately, picture hosting decided to go wonky on me at this point, so I can't show you the great fabrics she sent. But they are really beautiful, and I already have plans for them. Smiley Thanks so much, mini!

8  Re: Miyazaki Swap Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by dazedllama on: January 23, 2008 09:54:44 AM
Wheeeee! the loot has arrived! I got a bag, a room divider/ curtain and a painted box.

in its entirety:

A closer picture of the painted Calcifer and soot sprite:

Some pictures of the box:

And the bag with the top opened - No Face in all his glory!

When the bag is closed you  can see his head upside down, and the bottom part at the back is a pocket.

Thanks so much bbonnn - love everything! I took the bag to my classes this afternoon - its the perfect size for a binder and a water bottle!

I received from pharasalia - omg, I am so lucky! I got the most adorable dragon plushie, christened the mini-Smaurg, two great picture frames with dragon artwok inside, and two little dragon decorated tins filled with dragon glass marble magnets! Thank you so much pharasalia - this is definitely one of the highlights of my swapping career! Smiley
