1  CANADA / British Columbia / Re: Vancouver Fabric Stores on: September 19, 2014 08:20:11 PM
bumping to add that PUNJAB CLOTH HOUSE at 128 st and 80 ave is NOT to be missed.  put it on your bucket list, lovelies.  in addition to all the colourful silks and satins and brocades that are just ogleworthy and awe-inspiring, they have a smallish but well-curated section of high quality suiting material at the back of the store.  at insane prices.  how insane, you ask? how about 11 bucks a metre for 100% wool ARMANI suiting in a gorgeous classic charcoal grey?

yep - it's pretty awesome.

has anyone picked up the latest issue of Threads magazine? it has a whole article on Vancouver and our (garment) fabric stores. (they don't mention quilting stores, since that's not what Threads does) i knew about all of them except the specialty outdoor stores, but i was really excited to find out about those ones!

who's the specialty outdoor retailer? my threads collection is patchy and i don't have that issue.

So, maybe if I used a wooden spoon and kept it moving it may work? I may try that if I can find a wool sweater.

that will not work.  you might try washing it in your washer anyway, and todd it in the dryer with a few tennis balls.  you'll get heat + agitation, and you can keep wetting it until it's shrunk enough.

i like B.

the colour composition of B is better in my book.  the colours in A are well put together considering that you've managed to pick up on all the colours in the floral with the solids, but small patterns work better in piecing fabrics...which is another reason bag B draws the eye more effectively.  i don't think there's enough contrast between the solids to make bag A "pop".
