11  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / LES/Greenpoint Group? on: July 06, 2006 07:21:35 AM
I want to find a knitting/embroidering/sewing/craft circle in my neighborhood (LES) or in Greenpoint (where I spend the other half of my week ... my boyfriend's place!). Are there any groups that meet on a regular basis in either of these two places?

If not ... let's just start one! It would be fun to get together with people.

Hi everybody! Here is a picture of my first attempt at embroidering:

Yay! This is fun.
13  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Embroidery Supplies in NYC? on: June 23, 2006 04:51:13 PM
Hi everyone!

I'm new to embroidering and I am completely obsessed! Just wondering if the NYC folks can tell me where they get their embroidery gear.  I have the stitch-it kit, but where do you go for embroidery floss and tea towels? I'd prefer any shops in Manhattan, but if there are any awesome craft stores in an outer borough, I'm down to travel.

Thanks!

Jenny, thanks for such a great class at Make Workshop in NYC last night! It was super fun. Afterwards, I went to the gym. Then, waiting for the F train after the gym, I pulled out my little embroidery hoop so I could finish up my rocket. I must have looked like a complete freak, all sweating in my gym clothes and frantically finishing the sparkle on my embroidered rocket, but whatever!

I can't wait to get started on my Stitch-It Kit. Yay! Can't wait for you to come back out here again!
