1  My Green Go-Go Dress (Built By Wendy 3835) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nyssa1231 on: November 09, 2007 09:10:49 AM
Hi everyone! I can't resist the opportunity to make a new dress.  Here's the result of my latest efforts:

I made it using this fabric I got on fabric.com a while ago.  It was pretty easy to make.  I was a little intimidated at first since it was my first time installing a zipper.  It worked out surprisingly well!

I love bopping around town wearing my new dress.  It was so easy to make that I'm making another one, this time with pockets and polka dots.  Yay!

2  I Love Teal in Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller by nyssa1231 on: February 19, 2007 07:10:34 PM
Hey everyone!

This is my first post under the knitting topic.  I've been busy making 2x2 ribbed scarves for everyone, including everyone from my boyfriend to my sister.  Since it's been so cold here in NYC, I decided to make one for myself!

I've been obsessed with teal lately and I found this beautiful wool yarn at Purl last summer.  I love wearing bright colors, especially when it's dreary outside.  Smiley

3  Alien and Cupcake Onesies! (Image heavy) in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by nyssa1231 on: November 13, 2006 08:35:45 AM
Hey everyone! A friend of ours just had a baby, so we decided to make awesome baby onesies for her. My boyfriend did an iron-on of a painting he made for me for Valentine's Day (pic to follow) and I embroidered baby onesies:

I used the patterns included in the Sublime Stitching book. I love the little alien guy! Thanks for looking!

4  Green Plaid Tunic Top! (Built By Wendy - Simplicity 3964) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nyssa1231 on: October 30, 2006 05:46:55 AM
I'm currently obsessed with sewing right now, so this is how I spent my Sunday:

I used a mint green cotton fabric I found on fabric.com this summer. It was a little fiddly trying to make the inset, but I figured out to gather the material so it makes little ... gatherings. The pattern suggests making the inset and sleeves in a contrasting fabric, but I liked the fabric so much that I made the entire tunic in it. I like the spacegirl sleeves a lot! All in all, it was a breeze to make. I'm thinking of making the next one in some drapey silky fabric.

Thanks for looking!

5  Yellow Polka Dot Shirt! (Built By Wendy Pattern 4112) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by nyssa1231 on: October 22, 2006 12:56:53 PM
Hey everyone! I made my first shirt!

I used the Built By Wendy Pattern 4112 (http://www.builtbywendy.com/onlineshop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=16672&category_id=296/) and some fabric I got off of fabric.com a while ago. It was the first time moving beyond making stuff in a trapezoid shape (skirts), but it worked out well, thanks to the easy to follow directions and such.

Here's the back, just in case you were curious:

Now I just want to make a whole bunch of them. It was really fun to make! Enjoy!

6  DJ Girl Bag and Paisley Bag - First Handbags! (image heavy) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by nyssa1231 on: August 26, 2006 02:46:39 PM
Hi everyone! These are my first attempts at making handbags:

This is made from an old t-shirt that didn't fit me quite well. I loved the graphic, so I made it into a purse instead. The bamboo handles were kind of a b*tch to attach, but it was worth it!

I found this awesome fabric at Mood Fabrics and was desperate to make something out of it. I LOVE the colors.  Cheesy

7  Hula Girl! in Sublime Stitching Embroidery by nyssa1231 on: July 12, 2006 04:38:28 PM
Hi everyone! I just finished my Hula Girl tea towel.

I had a hell of a time doing those french knots for her lei (you can tell!), but I figure that they're flowers, so whatever. I'll pretend that the big loops were purposeful. Smiley
