1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Homespun...What to do? on: September 30, 2007 03:18:28 PM
I have the most comfy scarf made from homespun, but it is rather hard to work with.  So easy to stick your needle through and break!  But supersoft and cuddly.  I've actually been contemplating making an afghan from it.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: tree quilt on: September 26, 2007 04:03:21 PM
This is so very pretty.  At first, when I saw the picture, I thought it was a full-size quilt.  Can you imagine how lovely that would be as a huge quilt?  Very beautiful.

This is so cute!  I love that you decorate early for the holidays.  So do I.

And so, this is an actual book?  One which I may purchase and peruse at my leisure?  Who is this wonderful benevolent God who allows such ecstacies?
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Wild West/Cowboys and Gals Swap? on: June 15, 2007 07:32:18 PM
I'm posting so this idea doesn't die!  I'd dearly love to participate!

Yay for chaps!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: Takitutkunu on: June 08, 2007 09:21:46 AM
Those earrings rock my socks.  I'm going to have to steal that design and make me a red pair.  All your things are lovely.
7  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: goolash on: June 05, 2007 04:53:33 PM
When I was in Hungary, I had goulash at this really cool restaurant that was built to resemble a submarine, but that's off topic.  But what is relevant to this thread is that it was very thick, like stew, and had so much paprika.  That's where the color comes from.  Paprika is the best seasoning for adding color, I think.  The best for anything, really.  But anyway, lots of paprika and lots of beef.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Two yellow purses I made. on: May 28, 2007 05:09:12 PM
So, I got this vintage mystery ball of yarn from my friend's mom, and I had no idea what to do with it.  What does one do with a single ball of impossibly fuzzly, variegated, synthetic, 70s, very yellow yarn, anyway?  Make adorable mini-purses of course!

So that's what I did.  They are very similar, being the same size and having the same i-cord handles, but they differ in how they close.  One is open on the top with a ruffle and the other has a ruffled flap that doesn't like to stay down.  I lined them with floral twill fabric.  They really are very little.  Only 3 1/2 inches tall.

Aaaand pictures:

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Wild West/Cowboys and Gals Swap? on: May 25, 2007 07:28:27 PM
Oh my.  I love cowboys.  I watched "The Magnificent Seven" just two hours ago.  I love Steve McQueen when he decides to be a cowboy.  I am in.  Maybe.  Yes.  Hopefully.
10  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Unique Name Swap? on: May 25, 2007 07:26:39 PM
I really want to do this.  My name is normal, actually quite common, but my mother decided to be creative and give it a weird spelling.  Ashlea is on nothing personalized.  My sister's name is Amber, and she always got necklaces, pencils, those little children's cups with her name on.  She's my twin, so naturally I was jealous.
Not any more, of course.
But I digress...

I would most definitely join this swap.  It seems like good fun.
