32  Re: Owl Swap Round 5 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by silverfisch on: January 28, 2008 11:11:04 AM
oooh it arrived!! and the poor owl has not been squished to death by postmen, hoot!

I'm SO happy that you like it Cheesy I had SO much fun doing everything and stalking you. as always... my "gauge? what's that?" resulted in a rectangular blanket instead of a squared one and the owl in it is a bit hard to see. it took me hours to take a good picture where it could be properly seen

and both the great horned owl and blodeuwedd (a girl who was converted into an owl) have been chillin' at my house entry for so long, that I'm going to have fun doing them again Grin Grin

it was so hard to let them go, but it's so rewarding to see they are going to be loved!! thanks for being a great swap partner fosca!

I just came back from the post office and opened my package (with kitty help, how else)! I love it all so much! I am in love with this swap, because not only was I matched up with another really nice Spaniard (Fosca), but I have been so inspired by her so much and have received a whole bunch of greatness and loveliness!

here we go...

one owl!

two owls!!

three owls!!!

yeah, in that picture the poor felt owlie is being guarded by the sturdy fimo one and the big plushie one, because Fosca suggested on her letter I should use the felt owlie as a pincushion... how could I ever stab that little cutie?

all of them have already found a place on my shelf among my other plushies and little animals Grin

now the cutest crocheted mommy & baby owl:

the mommy has those BIG eyes that yell CUTE whenever you look at her, and the baby is all fluffy and can be taken off the nest. I love them, and have found a place for them out of my kitties' reach (you know, a fluffy baby owlie can tempt the most serious of cats...)

I don't know how this is called in english, but it's beautiful. it's this clear crystal ball filled with water and tiny sparkly stuff that rains over the two owl figures when you shake it. the figures are a delight to look at. I don't really know if she handmade this or not (she didn't specify on her letter), but if she did... I have no words, it's beautiful. I love it so much!

mommy, fluffy baby & ball have also a place on my shelf Grin

and last, but not least, my favourite of all... this handmade blank book

sorry for the crappy pictures, but I work during daylight and my house has this terrible lightning... the motives on the cover are lovely and I love the way it closes. it has a TON of blank pages and is currently sitting next to my bed because I always have blank books there to write at night. the book came with a pencil, and the fimo owlie is supposed to sit on the pencil... but I think it fits better on my shelf with his other animal friends Wink

and a group shot to end with!

Fosca, I can't thank you enough for a lovely package! everything is so well crafted and beautiful! I love it TONS (can't stop looking at the owlies in the ball, which is next to my computer desk) and I can only hope you will like my package as much!

34  Re: Disposable Camera Swap Round 3 - GALLERIA! :) in The Swap Gallery by silverfisch on: December 15, 2007 06:24:51 AM
I received!! I went to the post office this morning really excited to grab my package from mclianne, and what can I say! I love the pictures, the frame, and the extras she added... she did really spoil me rotten!

first, a group picture

we had agreed to print 24 pics and send a cd with as many as we wanted, and the frame. but she added the bottle of paint she used for the frame, so I can put some more coats and prevent the little decoupaged animals of falling off. not just that, she also added some more cute animals, so I can customize my frame! I think it looks great as it is, though Wink and to finish with, I got a couple of beautiful blue mohair skeins of the sort that is IMPOSSIBLE to find in my city. I love them so much!

my kittie Mirando giving his approval to the frame Cool which is already on my shelf

and now some of the lovely pics mclianne took for me. there are some gorgeous fall colors I we don't have here

then there are some pics taken at texas and some at a zoo in LA, both with animals. I LOVE animals, so I really like these pictures!

look, he's smiling at the camera!

the fosforescent ostrich Grin

she also included some pictures of the snow. it has never ever snowed in my city so I'm so happy to receive snow to put as a wallpaper on my computer Grin

the cutest picture ever with her doggies Cheesy

thank you very much for everything, Lianne. I love it all!! you have been a great partner! Kiss

poor lucrecia is being slowly torn apart due to the awful stretchy fabric Cry some seams are ripping the fabric and I don't want to move her, just let her stay on her spot on my shelve... my poor thing... I guess it's like she now needed to be on a wheelchair for the rest of her poppet life.

so I thought she deserved a nice outfit, and the crocheted dress is now finished! it fits her perfectly. I made her a flower pendant too. I think whe looks a bit hippie, so I might just do a flower pin for her hair Cheesy

here she is sitting and being inspected by one of my kitties, Luciano

look! she managed to stand up for the picture!

and a close up of the dress and the flower

now I look at her prettily dressed up and think it was worth the effort

next thing in mind: work on her purple sister

I want to crochet a cute top for a friend's daughter and I though it would be a nice training to do a mini dress version for my poppet... and now I tell you you DON'T want to crochet a dress! why were 2mm crochet hooks invented?? I'm sure it was satan who created them... and still a few shell rounds to go... *cries*

well, I tried it on the poppet and seems to fit quite nicely, so it might be worth the effort Tongue

39  crocheted photo cameras in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by silverfisch on: December 05, 2007 10:23:59 AM
I made these for my swap partner's little girls, and since she received and I am so proud of how they turned out (taking into account I learnt to crochet a couple of months ago), I needed to show them off Tongue

I got the inspiration from this one by Ellen Bloom. which in fact seems to be the one and only crocheted camera on the web...

I made the pink/purple one first and failed to note down chains and dimensions, so the second one turned out quite a bit different Roll Eyes

they are stuffed with foamie scrap rectangles from the huge foam we use at work. they were so much fun to crochet!!
