Finally I have decent internet...massive project dump to follow

Challenge: Potions
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: I built a wall!!
Project Page Link:
Brief Description: this is not traditional. The bricks are beautiful. These came from an old outside toilet that we demolished in this house (built about 1840) I have no idea if the toilet was built at the same time, but these bricks are old. The factory that made them closed in about 1930. I spent the weekend bashing off mortar with a hammer and chisel to salvage as many good ones as possible (not many) These were some of the broken ones. These bricks were designed to be covered up and set in straight lines. I am so not using them in that way. But I love it! My first attempt at bricklaying-deliberately wavy to make it interesting.

Challenge: HoM
House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: step edging
Project Page Link:
Brief Description: My lovely SO built concrete block steps up to our sunroom, and so for my second excursion into brick laying, I used the best of the bricks to edge the steps. Hopefully this means that these steps will be enjoyed for future generations, but the whole project is so me. Reusing old beautiful things and giving them a new lease of life. (the stone wall behind the house predates the house by many many years, it was maybe built before 1800!)

House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: snitch pouch.
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description:  This fits the brief in two ways, it is actually a snitch, but it is also the very last of the snitch fabric that I made, no more appearing in the world. This was also a craft swap item. Made from tiedyed fabric that was lino printed with snitches.

Project Name: Tardis bag
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: This actually took a long time, there were a lot of steps. The fabric was bleached and then painted to create a galaxy look. Then a tardis stencil cut and painted. And after all that the bag was made.

Project Name:
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: the following pix are the same lino print on three different fabrics, they will be used together for a quilt. I am experimenting with lino prints onto printed fabrics to see how they work together.

House: Ravenclaw
Project Name: Jellyfish pillow case
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: This is a combination of traditional skills in a very silly pattern. There was a lot of hand stitching in this, the body had to be gathered, and sewn down, there are sequins hand sewn in. FLounces were cut (spiral of fabric) and sewn down, ditto ribbons. This was another craft swap.

Done! addressed, sealed (I was not licking 27 envelopes, a baby wipe did the job perfectly!) Ready to hit the post office today. Yay!

And I broke my corner rounder doing these, but it was time for a new one, so that's good.

Started working on my questionnaire! I have always wanted to do this swap, but never have.

Also, I would be happy to swap with you edelC if you would be interested  Smiley. I don't mind sending internationally.

that would be so cool. Smiley Nice to know that people are still willing to swap internationally, because it can be spendy.  I will start working on my questionaire, but it's cool if you look at it more closely and feel that you can't. Our dear organiser can keep me on the reserves bench so to speak.

my sewing machine has jammed so I either need to get it repaired or buy a new one. I've had this machine since 2008 so maybe it's time to get a new one  Huh

Oh get a new one if you can afford it, a new. perfectly working sewing machine is sheer joy. No more working around the quirks and stubborness of one that is on the way out.

I need that suitcase in my life!
20  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / golden snitch print on tie dyed fabric, with completed projects on: August 11, 2016 02:40:08 PM
I did a batch of indigo coloured tie dye, using fibre reactive dyes.

Then I cut this stamp, lino cutting. One complete snitch and a round ball for the gold.

The fabric was randomly printed all over as I wanted to create the flying vibe.

The one on the right was printed in a more regular fashion as I wanted it for some pillowcases

the finished pillowcases, these were sent in a craft swap

and a little pouch

the tee shirt below the pouch in this was stencilled with freezer paper. These also went to a swap partner
