So a long time ago I came across putz glitter housese online, I loved the history of them and thought that I would make one. It was close to christmas, so I figured a little christmas decoration would be a nice thing. I chopped a little branch off our fake christmas tree to make a tree for the garden and covered the whole lot with glitter. On the base of the house, which was covered in white paper, i wrote a short account of the highlights of the year.
Then I did the same the following year..all of a sudden I am now looking at 7 houses. It is part of my christmas tradition now, in the week before christmas I make a house. They are all made of 'grey board' rather than the traditional cereal packet. That was the board that i first used and continuted, a pain in the ass, quite frankly as it is very dense and difficult to cut small apertures, but it makes them very durable. next year I will have to work out some kind of village configuration, maybe make a landscape, but for now this is the village. They get wrapped up and put away after christmas and it is always nice to pull them out and reread each year as they appear out of the boxes of christmas decorations.
whole village, a witch lives in one of the houses, her broomstick is outside the door.

the railway station, this was made to plans from the same glitter house website, but I am not especially happy with the scale, it seems a touch big, but I still love it.
the village church
this year's pink house a homage to my flamingo obsession, there are two tiny flamingos in the front yard. I got the flamingos in a craft swap ages ago, they were earrings.
