Hi I am 45, divorced and living with my 18 year old daughter, in real life I am a lecturer (aka college professor) in engineering, craft keeps me sane! We live in a little village in the west of Ireland, the lack of craft shops and bookshops carrying craft books, frustrates me. But it means that I have excuses to shop on ebay and amazon.
I visit craftster every day as I love so many different types of craft, sometimes I get paralysed by all of the things I want to do. Because cool fabric and craft supplies generally are difficult to find here, I tend to shop when I am overseas, and hoard. I've recently been going through my stash and I have fabric that I've bought nearly 20 years ago!
I love to swap, personal swaps and organised swaps are such fun, it makes getting mail a lot more interesting than the usual bills.
My first love is sewing, but I also do a lot of paperarts and make jewellery, (if you count cooking and making cocktails as craft...then there is a lot of that too!)
There are a few things that I want...things that I hope to get around to making some day...but in the meantime it might be useful inspiration for swap partners.
I mostly like functional things. I am a packrat and so there is a lot of clutter in my house if something is functional and beautiful then its a winner. Bedlinen, storage, hoodies,t-shirts etc
I also have a couple of beams in my bedroom and want some altered art to pin to them, they sit about head height and so anything on them needs to be flattish.
I have shelves in my bedroom where I am starting a little collection of quirky things, currently there are a couple of shrines and a couple of altered books...more for there would be great.
Scrapbook layouts. I have just printed up 300 photos!! Lots of travel and party type ones, I'd love some pages, or some of those little albums of smaller pages for my photos.
Supplies. I always love supplies, for sewing. paper arts and jewellery making. I dont knit or crochet so I dont have much use for yarn
I love printed cottons and a package of fat quarters makes me very happy.
Would love to try out some of those interesting patchwork rulers and stuff.
and of course if you could make me a patchwork quilt I would love you forever. I love fabrics more than anything and so patchwork where I can look and look and always see something different..is the most perfect thing in the world for me.
