6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Easy to Knit with Yarn on: January 16, 2008 01:25:43 AM
I learned how to knit using 'kitchen cotton' best stuff is Sugar and Cream. It's super soft on your hands, you can make quick easy gratifying projects like dish clothes or swiffer pads, and the stitch definintion is perfect, if you make a mistake you can see where you went wrong and easily frog it.
That, and if you really mess up, no worries it cost you about $2.

Good luck, just remember, every good knitter starts with a horrible looking scarf or two Smiley

8  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: ..Also my FIRST YARNS! on: January 10, 2008 08:44:21 PM
The roving was actually dyed that way.. although I found that if I pulled off about a 2 inch strip of my roving and then draft pulled it WAAAAAAAAAAAAY out into about half an inch strip, it pulled the colors into each other alot more, making the yarn take on a color swirled or plyed effect all on its own.  I had A LOT of roving to figure this out lol..
