I love that red!  I feel for you about the buttons. I have a finished sweater that needs some too.

Wow! That looks awesome  Shocked

I think it fits really well. Tunics are supposed to be a bit looser, and the fabric drapes really nicely at the bottom.

It's hard to tell, because the photo gets blurry when you zoom that far, but those look like little baby cables. I'm not sure how they did it going across, but you should have no trouble knitting them if you want to knit it lengthwise.  I bet it will look really pretty too!

I think I've even got a pattern somewhere, I'll take look.

18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Anthropologie Smart Aleck Skirt on: March 23, 2007 03:58:33 AM
I used to have a skirt like this and I'm thinking you could get a similar look by just using box pleats. Depending on how long you've been sewing, the godets would be a pain to cut out and sew together (ie  lots of little pieces). Unless you wanted to use denim, in which case the box pleats would be a bit to bulky then.

You could try something like this vogue pattern: http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.V8255=x&TI=20018&page=2

but instead of just sewing the box pleat at the top, you would sew it down for the top third of the skirt, and not press the pleats so that the bottom then just looks gathered, not pleated like in the vogue picture.  Hope that helps some!

Hi, due to being busy I haven't posted a comment or anything in *ages* but I just have to break the pattern to tell you how absolutely fabulous that blouse is. Great choice of colours, fabric and nicely put together. Congratulations, you talented girl, you!  Grin
