21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Felted Clutch on: December 09, 2006 01:47:48 PM
I love it!  It felted really well.  The flare is cute, too... sometimes the unintended things are even cuter than the things we intend to do, lol

Here's a pretty good explanation of felting, SoonFamo:

Love them!  That's strange about the stitch count, though.  Hmmm... I'll be making one in a few days... my stash is large but useless so I've got to go get some cute yarn, lol.

If you want to knit a shawl, the Kiri shawl is a good first one I think.  It's not too hard to keep track of where you are and shawls are amazing because when you block them out they look amazing.  I agree you should practice a bit first but it's really not that hard!

25  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Holiday knitting? on: August 19, 2006 08:21:59 AM
I love holiday knitting!  I wonder, though, if anybody has suggestions for Dads?  My Dad loves to be cold so scarves and mittens and socks and such are out of the question.  Sweaters are out also.  Any suggestions?  He sells furniture and likes furniture-related stuff.  I'm not sure what that would lead to, lol.  My Mom's getting a sweater because she knows the work that goes into it and will ooh and aah appropriately, hehe.

Lovely!  I totally understand on the procrastinating.  I'm always desperately wandering the mall the week before Christmas, lol.  Maybe I should get inspired and start early like you... hmmm...
