4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / gifts for people you know little about :( on: December 25, 2006 12:51:08 PM
because i'm graduating this year, i've wanted to gift people in my classes.
=( sadly, most of them, i know very little about. what's the safest gift(s) to make or give to them? i always think of things that have broken the backbone of super gifting: i.e. candles, photo frames, photo albums etc. but i'm sure all of you have much more creative things in mind! post away Wink
5  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / fake converse! on: September 26, 2006 01:04:54 PM
fake converse is fun ^_^ i got these babeys a couple of months ago for $5 CDN, but haven't had a chance to wear them yet. although they're an incredibly funky colour, it's likely that i probably won't (a pair of converse already in the closet =/) wear them.

so what do people normally do with shoes they don't want to keep? Grin

i'm open to all suggestions - even those that involve taking these guys apart.

6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: help: trying to rub off permanent marker from converse on: September 26, 2006 08:24:27 AM
awww, i tried mr. clean and it did get a bit of the job done (made the permanent marker quite blurry, compared to the nail varnish which had very little effect at all) so i'll try the other suggestions here to see if it poofs away!

Ah.
Erasers. And a LOT of elbow grease.

And then just scrub to your heart's content. I find it is best to do this will visualizing ex's, in-laws, W. Bush, and what have you.

Hope it helps!

thanks rockwaterfalls =) i'll definetly try that.

well, i use nail varnish to get those type things off, but that didnt work at all? some things that may help (not sure)
bleach pens, softscrub cleaner, gasoline, or simple green cleaner

i used nail varnish in hopes that it might scrub a fraction of it off ._. but ahh, the varnish that once did wonders with permanent markers, didn't seem to work it all! totally caught me off guard.
thanku for your suggestions <3

9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / help: trying to rub off permanent marker from converse on: August 24, 2006 06:13:33 AM
i wrote with permanent black marker on my really old converse shoes (on the highlighted red parts below) a couple of years ago.
i kind of regret it now =/ so decided to rub it off with nail varnish, but it didn't come off.
it's been quite a while since i wrote on them - so is there any hope that the writing will go at all?
