1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Plaid corset top! on: August 14, 2007 01:41:18 PM
I really like this!  The fabric is great and the lace definitely adds to it.  Did you use a pattern or just sort of wing it?  I've been thinking about trying to make a corset and I wanted to make a simple one sort of like what you've done.  The stretchy fabric sounds like a great idea.  Do you think you could post a tutorial?  I don't have great sewing skills but I'd love to see how you made it.

Good job!

That looks really good!  Did you sew the lining on by hand?  I've been trying to line some knitted things and I'm not sure of the best way to do it.  Great job on the embroidery.

I just finished watching the Return of the Jedi yesterday and then I found this!  It's awesome!! When I was little ewoks were my favorite creatures from Star Wars (closely followed by jawas).

I've been dreaming of less-harmful screenprinting chemicals for a long time!  Thanks for posting this; I'd love to buy their non-toxic emulsion remover!

6  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Re: Sunshine-ed Shoes on: June 27, 2006 06:28:20 PM
I've been meaning to paint/color some white shoes I got from walmart, but I can't decide what to put on them.  I love yours, they're super cool!

normally i dont like keds, but these rule Smiley
Keds are growing on me - I really dislike the ads about being "cool" but the shoes have a lot of potential for creative makeovers, as exemplified here.
7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Teeny Little Super Guy (+9 pictures) on: June 27, 2006 06:01:04 PM
I recently saw this guy online and had a flashback, but I can only remember the very beginning of the song.
I learned everything I know from Sesame Street.  These are totally awesome!

Hey I'm 17 years old and I love that song and the Talking Heads!  Awesome shirt. My dad has raised me on good music unto the point of which I basically reject all modern music.  The Talking Heads are amazing.  I love them. and great shirt!  I think I will copy you and your fantastic shirt, but no one my age will get the reference, just the same because I like weird music.

I just turned 18 and I've gotten all of my musical taste from my dad.  I was raised on the Beatles and the Talking Heads, and modern music tends to do very little for me.  People ask me my favorite bands and when I say the Talking Heads they're like, who?

and to KatDr5 - "True Stories" is one of the most bizarre and wonderful things I've ever seen (other than the Rocky Horror Picture Show that is).

I am obsessed with the Talking Heads.  The shirt is awesome, great job!
