I made this collage artsy type box and a car CD holder for my daughter's boyfriend for Yule/Christmas.  I had to make all the gifts this year because we are just tooooooo po' to buy anyone anything.  And last year I was so stressed that I didn't get anyone anything, but then I felt like a real heel about it.  I was so depressed about the holidays coming and again wouldn't be able to buy gifts, but then I challenged myself to make all the gifts and do it with whatever materials I had on hand.

I love this picture.  I sent off, once, for an art college's stuff and they sent this incredible book of their students work.  I used most of the pictures on the box from the book.




My daughter did some doodling, she's pretty artistic herself, and I found some of them and used them on the box, too.  They're the ones that are on white paper in the upper left and right corners.


She also did the doodle that is under the "Rebel" picture.  He's really into the energy drinks, even though I fuss at him about how bad they are for him.  I figured he'd like it, though.

Notice that a couple of the cd spots are backwards.  I did that by accident and I didn't have any more of the fabric to fix it, so I put them in every 3rd one and it actually looked like it was supposed to be that way.  So, accidents really do come out right sometimes.



I took the last pocket and turned it into a zippered compartment instead of another cd pocket and added a pocket for his sunglasses.  This doesn't look anything like the pattern I found online.  But that's what makes it unique, in my opinion.

I made this snood with eyelash yarn and didn't realize how difficult it would be.  Fortunately, it was an extremely easy pattern to follow.  I spent several hours looking for a free pattern to use.  It only took about an hour to make and that was me having to start over several times.  I had a hard time seeing my stitches.  LOL  I tried putting elastic thru but it just fell out of my hair too easy.  So I threaded a ribbon and that worked pretty good.  I am giving it to my new daughter-in-law who has nice thick pretty hair.  We are so poor this year and I couldn't afford to buy anyone anything so I am giving handmade gifts only.  I also had to make everything from what I already had on-hand and that was a real challenge.

I made this beaded watch necklace for my daughter for Yule/Christmas.  We celebrate Yule.  I am ultra poor this year and had to figure out how to make everyone something from what I had on-hand.  I think she's going to like this, or at least I hope she will.  She's always complaining about not having a watch.

I made these for my grandson's first yule/Christmas gift.  He seemed to have just about everything so I had a hard time figuring out what to make him.  We are ultra po' this year so everyone had to have something handmade and I had to use whatever materials I had on-hand.  That was sure a challenge.  Anyway, here they are.

I decided to use some regular fabric and some fabric that had some tecture.  Babies like bright colors and the leopard fabric is soft.  I also made them squishie so they will be easy to grab onto when he gets old enough to do that.  He'll be 3 months old on Dec 20th so he'll grow into these.

I made this lil' cutie for my grandson's first yule/Christmas tree ornament.  I celebrate Yuletide on Dec 21.  It came out so cute I just had to share with everyone here.

I did his head like a Waldorf doll, which was pretty neat.



Well, I hope he likes it when he grows up, he'll be 3 months old on Dec 20th.  And he's just the most bea-u-ti-ful baby in the whole wide world.  LOL

These turned out so cute and so practical.  I hang them from the belt loops of my jeans purse.  I also love the bells, when I walk they tinkle.

Here is a project of mine that I've done recently.  I love blue jeans purses.  I've made them for a long time. 

It's lined and has 2 medium sized zippered pockets.  I am presently making things to go inside.  I like to see how many useful things I can make before I run out of fabric.  The Dotee Dolls are useful, starting far left, she's my cell phone mate that I call Phonie Dotee; the middle one has my mp3 player on her back and I call her Musique' Dotee; the last one has a manicure set on the back and her name is Manic Dotee.

Hi One-and-All,

I got a notion to make a Dotee Doll but make her more practical then just hanging around being cute.  So I made her into a manicure set and I'm so pleased with how she turned out I'm going to continue trying to find practical ways to make Dotees'.  I hope you like her.

I saw a toy similar to the one I made right here on craftster so I thought I'd try my hand at making one. 

I made this for my new grandson who is due in Oct.  I read a post about how you give a child his/her own monster and that way they'll be protected from other monsters.  I thought that was such a neat legend, kinda like the dreamcatcher legend, or the South American doll legend.  The picture looks a little spotty but it isn't really, it's a bright florescent green.  This is the first of maybe many.

Hi,  I made this outfit from some corduroy jeans my 20 year old daughter outgrew and an old flannel shirt I outgrew. 


It doesn't look like corduroy, but the fabric is black so it's hard to tell.




I found this baby shoe pattern and instructions on some blog.  They were so incredibly easy to make.  I think I found some pictures here on craftster and followed the trail to the blog that had the pattern and instructions.  Unfortunately, I can't remember where the blog is now.  They came out so cute.  Just thought I'd show them.
