Details of swap:

NOVEMBER 21st is almost here! Let's celebrate one of the most anticipated movies of the year (Perhaps of the century? Even the millenium? ) with a fifth round of Twilight crafting goodness. This swap will mostly be dedicated to crafting items for or from the movie, but if you want to talk to your partner about crafting things from the books, feel free.

This swap involves creating one large, one medium and two+ small items to send to your swap partner. You've got three weeks to complete your items and send them off; please let me know ASAP if you see yourself unable to meet the send date. If you'd like to craft more, PM your swap partner after receiving his/her name and y'all can work something out.

After sending, please PM me a scanned copy of your receipt, with the location you've sent to circled or highlighted. Delivery confirmation is a good thing to get, just in case, but if it's prohibitively expensive (if you're sending overseas it can be), it's not necessary.

A preface: I am a total Twilighter.

I wanted a Bella's bracelet to show my love for the series, but I a. didn't have $75 to spend on a nice one and b. am one of those people who thinks they can make everything themselves (not always true). I also didn't want a brass charm; even though they look pretty, brass just isn't the same as hand-carved wood.

I set out to carve myself up a little wolf, with balsa wood and an exacto knife, and I think I got a decent replica on my third go-round. I popped it on a chain along with a crystal heart, and ta-da:

a little stencil, a little acrylic paint+fabric medium, and a little time.

i've even washed them, they hold up well. 

i adore the look of the built by wendy patterns, and have all of them and the book, but i hadn't really gotten around to making anything until this weekend. i'm much more of a reconstruction girl; very rarely have i ever used a pattern to make anything.

i realized that the fabric, now that i've worn the shirt, looks like something that would make a hospital gown. but i think it's cute.

the only complaint i have about fit is that it kinda squashes the girls down. next time i'll make it a little bigger in that region.

hey all, newb here.

i've been stenciling for a few years now (using freezer paper) and i love it. i can't post pictures yet, but here's a link to some of my projects ... i need to update it with more recent items, but i seem to keep forgetting to take pictures of them!

I've been stenciling for a while, and freezer paper is far superior to any other sort of paper, specifically because you can print on it from your computer, iron it onto your shirt, and peel it off after you're done painting. keeps the bleeding to minimum. the only downfall is that you can only use the stencil once.

i can post more about this technique if anyone's interested.
