31  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / First Earrings Evarrr! with buttons! on: September 06, 2007 09:31:34 AM
I took a trip to my grandmas' and one of them unloaded a generous portion of her bead collection on me when she learned I was interested in making jewelry. Last night I picked up some crimps and decided to play around this morning...

Very simple, but I've been craving button jewelry for quite a while!

I now need to learn how to crimp properly and make myself a button necklace...

34  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Ta-Da : I want my daddy dance dress to look like THIS! [big on pics] on: July 29, 2007 06:18:49 AM
OMG I want one of these, and I'm 23 Smiley I was Tinkerbell for Halloween a couple years ago and had a miserable costume lol. If only I'd seen this.

And I love the idea of a Daddy Dance. I wish we had those when I was her age.

Also, what an awesomely creative girl you have!
35  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Suggestive Harry Potter Tees on: July 26, 2007 06:56:12 PM
I saw these on Fashionista and thought I should pass them along to those who are talented with stencilling.

Oh yeah, I forgot:
The skirt pattern is from http://www.xoxoblythe.com
the boatneck shirt is from http://www.puchicollective.com
37  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Blythe Tulip Skirt for Bratz doll on: July 17, 2007 04:28:16 AM
This is my girl Darcy. She was my $10 tip for driving out to the ghetto to pay a bill for my dad. She doesn't know that she isn't a Blythe, nor does she know that I really would prefer one. After searching for a suitable recipient of painstakingly tiny stitchery, I settled on a Bratz doll that didn't look too devious (or "skankeh" according to the Toys-R-Us cashier).
The box says her name is Jade, but I can spot a Colin Firth fan anywhere; thus, Darcy.

Anyway, this is my first time making clothes this tiny, so be gentle, please.

I call it the pinwheel skirt, using scraps from a shirt I'm making for myself. I'm a little frustrated, because it's still not the right size. Her waist is so tiny compared to Blythe.

I was trying to make a boatneck top, but in my laziness in turning the collar and putting in velcro, I'm using it as inspiration to make a military style jacket.

And one more shot just for fun... because shedding modesty is in her dolly dna.
38  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Luna Lovegood's cardigan.... on: July 15, 2007 12:00:37 PM
Thanks so much for posting that! I was sitting in the theater, and almost forgot to pay attention to what was being said, because I was eyeing and dissecting the sweater Smiley
39  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Crochet in Fiction (Movies, TV, Books) on: July 15, 2007 11:56:47 AM
I've just been looking at pictures from the new Harry Potter film on the movie website http://harrypotter.warnerbros.co.uk/site/index.html (can't wait to see it!), and Luna Lovegood (I think) is wearing a very cute crochet cardi in one pic, and a crochet scarf in another!

I just saw it last night, and I found myself very much wanting that cardi. It was really very cute!
