I wish I had seen this before I made my bf his ski mask that came out really weird. This is awesome!!!
12  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: How to cut like this shirt? on: February 02, 2008 11:49:09 PM
What everyone else said, but it helps to put a piece of cardboard inside the shirt so that you have a nice surface to slash on with an exacto knife.
13  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Photographed Portrait for the BF for VDAY on: January 21, 2008 10:57:10 AM
Beautiful!! You just gave me a great idea for my own bf, if I can execute the photography as well as you did! I have no plan or backup plan for Valentine's day yet...
14  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Chocolate Candy Jewelry and Such on: January 17, 2008 01:50:03 PM
The ones that are "bitten" are my favorites... they look so realistic! Did you actually bite the clay? Haha, kidding.
But still... wonderful!
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Easy Apron with Casing! on: December 23, 2007 01:34:02 AM
My friend Rach told me that all she wants for Christmas is an apron. I went to the store and picked out a pattern on sale, but when I started cutting it out, I got extremely impatient. I knew that an apron had to be more simple than six pieces. So I dug through my pattern box and found my easiest dress pattern (Simplicity 3742), modified the front piece, cut 2, sewed them right-sides together leaving a place for strap casing at the top and waist, flipped it right side out, sewed the casing, and put the ribbon in. Easy as pie!

I of course had to make a prototype so I didn't ruin any of the material that my gift recipients liked, so I used this $1/yard shiny red stuff (Walmart is love!). I like it. On my next ones, I'll probably make it an empire-waist instead, because it's a little too low-rise for me, but I'm so excited! I haven't made anything nearly as successful in a few months. Time to get back on the wagon...

I know it still needs to be ironed, but it's hard to not jump for joy when I've gotten to a point where I can wear it :p
16  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: knitty's binary? edit to add pic on: December 06, 2007 06:15:57 PM
I hate to necropost... but I have to ask... I'm starting this, and I can't figure out how to go about dividing amongst my dpns. And then I look, and it says to cast on 66... yet there are 4 stitches in each chart per row. How does that work out?
How did everyone divide this on 4 needles?

GUH... such a goober. I need to learn to read. I totally missed the K1 before each row!

The hair is fabulous, and I love the face.
And your cat is awesome! I've always wondered what it would be like to pet a kitty without hair :p I love the stripes on his head.
