Hello Everyone!

In a few weeks I will be on vacation from work and school, and would like to take on a slightly challenging double knit scarf project. 

I my mind I see a paisley or paisley-like design... but I can't seem to find a chart/pattern any where.  Maybe it's not possible since your only using two colors?

I'm thinking about trying to make my own on graph paper... but I thought I'd ask if anyone knew of one before making more work for myself. 

Otherwise I might just attempt this one instead:

I love that color, its so pretty!  I'm making some progress with mine.  Finally got batteries for my camera, so maybe when I get home tonight I can post some pictures....


Update:  Ok... I'm finally home from work and there's batteries in my camera so here is a progress pic (ignore the turtle tank in the back ground, it was the best lighting I could manage).

Actually... I finished these over the summer, but am just getting around to putting them on my blog so I thought I'd share them here too!  The pattern is from http://sockbug.blog-city.com/, with a few modifications.  Instead of knitting from the top down, I went from the toe up (personal preference) and I made the cables mirror each other rather than go the same way, thought it would be cute.  I used KnitPicks Essential (because I'm on a budge!), I think the color was called pumpkin (perfect for fall!).  Let me know what you think!

Here is another sock I just finished at the movies last night (on a sidenote, I do not recommend going to see Beowulf, I did not like it very much).  Unfortunately, I'm not looking forward to making the second sock... although the pattern of the yarn works up nicely, knitting every row was really boring!

No takers?  But its so cute! 

I cast on two days ago for the back, I've made it through three pattern repeats so far.

I just got the new issue of Vogue Knitting in the mail today and I'm in love with the cabled cardigan on page 86.  It is so cute, I love the 3/4 length sleeves and the crocheted ties!

I am going to check my gauge tonight and hopefully cast on tomorrow (even though I'm in the middle of a million other projects already!)
 
I'm going to use KnitPick's Shine Worsted in "Blush" because I happen to have enough in my stash.

I'm finished!!! After many attempts it is finally complete(well i still have to weave in the ends and block it (and i've never blocked anything before so that should be interesting))!  I ended up making a large.  It is the first sweater that i've made that actually came out wearable.  I'm not thrilled with the sleeves or the color, its a little too bright orange, but it does go with the skirt so that's a plus.  If I learned anything from this project it is that I LOVE top down raglan patterns and I want to make many many more!

I finally finished mine!!  Unfortunately I'm not thrilled with the end result.  I got carried away with the ribbing and the "shawl collar" type thing kind of took over -  you can hardly see the cap sleeves!!

However... I do like the overall style and it is an easy, relaxing project so I plan on making another one in a chunky little green.

i am definitely willing to try.  i just tend to struggle with following charts for some reason.  its so much easier for me to follow things that are in words, i'm not sure why but i think it might have to do with me being dyslexic.

i've done a little lace work so i'm not too worried about that, but i tried making the DNA cable on a scarf about a year or so ago.  I took it apart and started over so many times i finally just gave up!

I'm hoping i'll be able to handle it a little better this time!




As for moving the cable off center, that might look kind cool.  I was just looking at this pattern too, I really like the off center cable and the sleeves.

I like it!  Its so awesomely convenient!
