Nice work! I know what you went through looking for pieces to turn pirate, we did that in September for a "Pirates IN the Carribean" party on our cruise!

Wow I wish I was that crafty when I was 16!!

Great job!

I once had plans to do "Disco Sue". Never got around to it though.

And we would have gotten away with it, if it weren't for those meddling kids!!

Fantastic!
16  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Yet Another (but this time tiny) Tinkerbelle -- Updated with action shot! on: October 31, 2006 05:56:22 AM
So I made this costume for my 4yo Daughter for our (Disney) Cruise this fall, but she is going to wear it tonight for Halloween as well.

Isn't she cute?

And from the side. Who knew that Tink eats fish sticks?

The dress itself is made of green satin, and the overlay on the skirt is a lime green tulle (who would buy that except for a tinkerbelle costume?)

The wings are store bought, but had to be adjusted to not flop around so much.

I'll try to get a full body shot tonight. The skirt is really cute in that it is all raggedy at the "hem".

Oh, and I forgot about the shoes... They are re-conned ballet flats that I painted green and finished with glitter poly. Then hot glued the pom-poms.

Here she is on our front walk all ready to go with her wand and pixie dust (glitter)

Enjoy!

Yes, please continue.

But also, try to relax. Your first few (or several) aren't going to be fantastic. I've only been painting for about 6 months, and already I'm seeing huge leaps and bound in my work.

Getting frustrated over it is just going to make you want to quit. So relax and in a couple of weeks take out the stuff you did this week and compare it to your current work. You'll see the changes.

Yeah, especially in public schools teachers have no imagination. I had one good art teacher and one "bad". Unfortunately the good one couldn't give me the encouragement I needed because if you weren't a sheep at this school, they frowned upon you. Sigh.

Your painting is lovely. And it's a high school piece, it's not going to be perfect. I c an't wait to see more of your stuff.

Too totally cool... You really should re-make it out of something more permanent. Or at least install it inside somewhere. Smiley
