31  Re: My Care Bears (REALLLLLLY image heavy...seriously, like 20 pics) in Halloween Costumes by SkyDamsel on: October 27, 2006 07:46:21 PM
Thats excelent!! You did a really good job!! And I tell you that TravTrav is a great inspiration. I made 8 Care Bears, but you out did me by far. I couldnt do the sweats so I made 8 Care bear hoodie T-shirts. I work in a school cafeteria (there is no way we are going to run around the kitchen in sweats) and today was our story book character day, no one had come up with anything to dress up as so I took it into my own hands. It was so much fun and I defenitely couldn't have done it without TravTrav's amazing post.

Again, great job (sorry I don't mean to hijack) but here is a picture of our Care Bear Stare

32  Bartender, make it a T-shirt recon on the rocks! in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by SkyDamsel on: July 28, 2006 08:52:25 PM
Another Goodwill find.  I  put darts on the top to make it more roomier and lined it for more support. The back i put ties on to make it tighter or looser but I dont think it's very functional because it slides out from under it so I think im going to make it drawsting instead.

The sleeve said Bacardi on it and i didnt want to waste that so it can be used as a head band.  A girl should always accessoize!!  Cheesy (picture of my daughter wearing it).

thanks for looking! comments welcomed

34  Old Pattern New outfit (children's) (few pics) in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by SkyDamsel on: July 13, 2006 03:13:44 PM
I found a few patterns at a flea market of cute children's outfits from the 80's and back, and I finally used one.  I made this one, a Simplicity pattern 9989 dated 1981, out of some fabric i found at Goodwill (I think it was a curtain once) I made a few changes (the pattern was a size 5 daughter wears a 6/7) so she could wear it for a little while, instead of making the straps front to back i used the straps as ties like a halter top. I will defenitely be making another one bigger.

36  Re: Strawberry Shortcake dress for my little girl! in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by SkyDamsel on: July 02, 2006 07:48:49 PM
I love this pattern. This is the pattern I started sewing with. I've made my daughter 5 of these dresses. Are you going to try to make the 3 tier one? I have one of those in pieces cause I haven't figured out how to sew the lower parts together with the top, if you get one of those done let me know how it turned out. Here are 2 of the ones I've made Smiley (sorry if pics are too big i don't know how to resize them yet)

37  Tshirt recon (firts post) in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by SkyDamsel on: July 02, 2006 03:45:32 PM
Hi all!  I've been lurking for a while checking out amazing recons and creations here on craftser and I figured i should come out and show you what I have tried. Well I'll start with my failed attempt at the mini dress on this thread http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=16743562.0  I guess i used too small a t shirt, it didnt work out for me at all Sad but it did for my daughter, kind of. It's not a mini dress at all it's a little sun dress I had to make a few changes to fit it to her.   tell me what you think Cheesy

I still have to attach the straps and cut off my strings. I left alot of fabric on the back so I can adjust it as she grows.
