22  Candy Corn Grim Reaper (DDs idea) costume in Halloween Costumes by SkyDamsel on: November 03, 2008 03:08:56 PM
For the past couple of years we have been making story book characters for halloween
since schools here don't celebrate halloween and just do a book characters instead
DD decided that she wanted to be something different and different it is.
I made it with Gothinc Lolita in mind.  DH made the scythe with pvc pipe and
some plastic stuff named sentra that bends when heated then he air brushed it
candy corn color.

thanks for looking

Aren't those miniature tree decorations awesome!
My husband made us a whole bunch of earrings
with those tiny things. Love the snowmen! They
don't have those here.

25  Child Costume: Strawberry Shortcake in Halloween Costumes by SkyDamsel on: November 01, 2007 07:23:42 PM
I made my daughter Strawberry Shortcake for Story Book Character Day at school (fancy non Halloween name)

Everything was hand crafted

except ofcourse the stockings (sockdreams.com)
and the shoes (yay Goodwill for $2.99 Dr Martens)

The HAT was the hardest thing to make (sigh)
and once it was done I wasn't going to try to add the
strawberries to it (can you say afraid to ruin it)
But the little strawberry on top was the easiest thing ever!
2 triangles sewn on the sides stuffed then the top gathered
and 3 small triangls sewn in circle and gathere for the leaves
attach and tada!

My inspiration
and this beautiful dress I saw on ebay while I was browsing for images.

26  I learned how to do it! Amigurumi bottle cozy w/pics in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by SkyDamsel on: August 08, 2007 04:07:06 PM
Thanks to my friend amigurumigirl and her webcam LOL I can finally crochet the right way!! She sat with me online and in one long lesson taught me how to do the magic loop and how to crochet without just using the back loop.

I made this water bottle cozy from Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful

It was easy once I learned how to do it. And now to do over the lavender bunny in brown I did on back loop only not too long ago.
Thanks for looking

Thanks for the pattern
I love the bunny
and this is my first try at making anything like this
here is a picture of the bunny I made
I had issues with her but not pattern wise
(i just added a few rounds on the arms to lenghten them)
just stitching as you will be able to see
but I think i will have figured it out soon.
Thanks again.

29  I too have a first ami! but what am I doing wrong? in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by SkyDamsel on: July 29, 2007 11:03:18 AM
Ok so inspiring craftsters have me going crazy
trying my hand at everything there is to do here lol
and this is my crochet attempt
I followed the Lavender bunny pattern here
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=162955.0bunny
and here is what came out

But I notice that my stitches look different from the original bunny
and other crochet things so I am wondering what am I doing wrong
can someone help me fix it. I used red heart worsted weight yarn
and it looks like i used hemp or rope.

any advice welcomed
comments loved
thanks
