1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Last minute birthday present on: December 15, 2004 02:19:03 PM
Due to all the christmas shopping and such I've put off making a friends present until the night before her birthday *innocent nod*.. Here is a bit about her.. I can't exactly go out and get anything now.. but i do have fabric stuff.. so sewing ideas are valuble as well. Smiley

She's a guitar-loving, clay aiken obsessed vegan... She enjoys the beatles, watching audrey hepburn, food, funky jewelery, and just about anything else. Smiley Thanks for your help.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Shoe Clips on: September 01, 2004 12:09:54 PM
I know a lot of vintage thriftsters like myself often find adorable solid color flats, that need a little work.. so I thought why not make shoe clips like the one below.. they are pretty much little appliques (ribbon flowers, bows, buttons, etc.) glued on a bobby pin..

The picture should be up now. Thanks.

4  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Craft The Vote! / Underage Action on: August 30, 2004 07:39:24 AM
I suggest getting involved with local in school organizations to help register voters. I mean I know blood drives are a staple of high school life, so why can't voter registration drives be as well? You could easily get donations from local political parties to hold the drives, and use that money to buy some jazzy pins (or being craftsters- make your own).

My personal suggestion would be Key Club. I know the New York District is trying to get all the clubs to hold these drives- it's easy! Haha, and you could incorporate a bake-sale. One free "baked item" if you register. I know tons of hungry teenagers would love that. Haha. Also, try your school's student council program. They are encouraging leadership, and a lot of times the structure of the program mocks that of the US. So get them involved. =-) And I bet you could even speak to local politicians to speak at school, encouraging kids to vote.  Wink
