Great idea! Since matchboxes are so small (like an inch long and you can't buy just one), maybe we can fill 2 or more and send to different partners (shipping will be so low on these too that we probably won't be able to get DC numbers). If we do that we'll receive a variety of items. I'd really be into this in February too, i'm trying to space out most of my swaps by 3 wks (and the AO will be starting soon)
If anyone's having a hard time finding these, check your local gas station in the aisles, they ususally have some next to lighter fluid.  Wal-mart-like stores usually carry them in the hiking/outdoor area.  Sometimes the kitchen area has them.
Technically they're called penny packages (and if i've given the wrong size box please pm me and i'll edit this with the larger box info)

looking forward to this swap!
hmmmm.... what to do with the leftover matches?

George from Seattle is boxed up and ready to go home! He'll be shipping flying out tomorrow morning (it's so cold here i hope i can crawl out of bed early enough before work).
This was his most fave place while he was in Cinci, the Krohn Conservatory. It is warm, beautiful and he even tried to escape and swing from the branches! This pic didn't make it into the album unfortunately

I love it! I'm still just on the ribbing project, but can't wait until I learn this pattern! I have a beagle mix and anything i buy her is either way too small or engulfing, I hope her soon to be sweater fits well.

30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: dog got my knitting on: January 14, 2007 08:27:30 PM
my dog thinks my needles are sticks from outside. she loves sitting to me when i knit so i make a habit of it 'getting' her while i'm kniting so she generally stays away from them
