Here are some (really bad) pictures I took of the stuff I sent to Ithnkuno, since *sniff, tear* her camera was stolen.

12  Re: "no tea cozies without irony" in Craftster Itself by goldfinch on: July 05, 2005 07:05:46 PM
Well, I believe I have a fantastic example of the "Craftster appropriate" tea cozy! Lovely, lovely Sioux (aka Pamplemousse) knit herself one, and when I said I loved it, she said she'd make me one!! (isn't she great?)
So here it is, in all it's glory. The words are "tea and cake or death", which is a quote from the fabulous Eddie Izzard. I would never have ducks, but somehow, this just cries out, "use your teapot!"
I love the slogan, Leah; it explains all of us Craftsters so well. Wink

13  Re: Button Swap! in The Swap Gallery by goldfinch on: May 24, 2005 04:19:44 PM
Okay, I'm FINALLY posting the pics of the wonderful stuff Ophelia sent to me, way back. There were four of those adorable little orange boxes, each with different sets of buttons in them, based on style. And check out the cute cards! She made them! Ahh, I'm so lucky.  Cheesy Sorry these pics are kinda blurry...they just don't do the buttons justice, anyway.  <3

If you're going to do the whole Hollywood thing, when you're done, head the other way down sunset when you're done and check out the new Walt Disney Concert Hall. It's free (if you don't go on a tour, and you don't really need to, but it'd be cool to, also) and it's just beautiful (there's no disney crap, it's just who paid for it, or something. Wink ). It's designed by Frank Gehry, and just...I don't know, I love it.. And if you do that, just about right across the street is the LA Museum of Contemporary Art, which is sooo much fun (at least check out the gift shop! lol). Also, I highly recommend the Getty. Okay, enough of me! Here's where you can check out the WDCH.
http://www.musiccenter.org/wdch/. From these pictures it looks all kinda spacey and modern, but to me, when I saw it up close, it's very organic and watery and cozy feeling.  Here's a picture (of me, sorry) to show you the shiny surface!

15  oops, I think i killed a muppet! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by goldfinch on: May 13, 2005 03:48:14 PM
Well, here it is, my first "new topic" ever. I made this silly bag for my boyfriend's sister for her birthday. One day my b.f. and I were in a salvation army and there was this chair covered in bright orange shag fur. His response: It looks like someone killed a muppet! From then on, we've been secretly plotting to make furniture from muppets, w/ eyes and all. But we started small, with this purse. I did the sewing, he did the eyes and assisted in artistic direction.  Wink So here it is! Dead Oscar-ish purse. It's a bit wonky, and there's lots of stuff I'll perfect next time, but he'll do.

p.s. i know, i know, he kinda looks like a toilet seat cover.

I got my package from Linda (supercraftytx) today! It's great stuff, and it's funny, b/c we sent each other kind of the same stuff, lol. So here's what she sent: a bunch of gorey stickers, 3 great magnets, an awesome and very well made purse (and it's HUGE! so much space!), and this fabulous decoupaged box. yay! Thanks so much Linda! Cheesy
