1  Re: Looking For Pattern? Ask here! - knit blanket in Knitting: Discussion and Questions by spunkyPOPmonkey on: June 01, 2013 09:04:01 PM
Does anyone know of a pattern similar to the knitted blanket shown on the cover of "Country Living" magazine, the February 2013 issue?

It is shown draped over a bench in this photo from their website.

Thank you!

Vicki

I would have to be able to look closer but it looks like it could easy enough. A garter band and probebly some variation of a waffle style stitch. Was there a picture with a closer view of the blanket?

2  NO-SEW KIDS CRAFT PILLOW in Completed Projects by spunkyPOPmonkey on: July 08, 2008 10:28:49 AM
I don't remember where i had seen it but i had this project in mind for a while and finally got around to making it happen. I actually took pictures for a tutorial when i made it which i will gladly share if there is interest. It's a quick project you can do with your kids (they should be old enough to use scissors) or even for your kids if you prefer, within a half hour.

Here is my baby girl enjoying hers...

4  Re: I can't hold yarn properly? in Crochet: Discussion and Questions by spunkyPOPmonkey on: September 30, 2006 02:14:11 PM
i learned basic crochet (really just sc) from a friends grandmother when i was 9 i kinda left it then i basically taught myself crochet (everything else lol) when i was in highschool and it came pretty easy but i never knew how to hold the string either it took me a while to get comfortable with it because i would always end up with a really loose piece if i held it just over my index finger, so i hold it over my index and over my pinky... heres a few pics

then i hold the work between my thumb and 2 middle fingers... my pinkie isn't held out like my index but just losely next to the other fingers so i can feel the yarn run between my pinkie and ring finger. if i need to hold it tight for a second (like i have to much slack) i push my pinkie against my ring finger and lift my index finger up for a stitch or two

hope it helps...

8  Best Flippin chewy chocolate chip cookies EVER! in Dessert by spunkyPOPmonkey on: July 29, 2006 03:49:18 PM
let me first say that being 8 months pregnant might have something to do with it, but i've never been a big sweets person, i mean i enjoy them on occassion but i can just as easy pass them up. I am very much a meat and potatoes girl... but in the last couple weeks i've been wanting sweets, mostly chewy fruity candies like orange slices but i just wanted to make cookies.

and omg ladies i don't know about you but i like my chocolate chip cookies soft and chewy rather than crunchy. so i went online in search of a good recipie. now these have to be the worst cookies for you i've ever found but i'd rather make it the good way and have one or two at a time over the course of a few weeks. well... there were alot of recipies out there but something in this one got me.
so i made it and enjoyed using the mixer (a milllion times faster than stiring by hand) and i think it's what lends the airyness to the cookie dough that will help make it chewy.

not the best pic because i used my phone, and i made them way bigger than i should have but thats good cause then i can just have one instead of being tempted to have like 5, which i probebly would if they were smaller.
i can't tell you how good they are, i'll post the recipie if anyone wants it... mmmmm

9  Re: Cute!! Mini Birdie Clutch in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by spunkyPOPmonkey on: July 11, 2006 02:10:17 PM
slb2724 yeah it is all of felt Smiley

bonbonz101 i think chloeZ is right, because i'm not sure whats it's called but it's super easy to do. we learned it in clothing design in highschool.

Here's the inside it has a little divider and a pocket on the top that is perfect for carrying some cash. It held my 6 cards comfortably, i'm sure it could hold a few more.

I added it to my etsy shop, i was going to make some in different colors but i cut that little birdie free hand i should trace it and make a paper template.
