1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / An applique Tote on: April 19, 2007 11:39:31 AM
I love Japanese pattern books.  This is inspired by From Quilters Studio.  I drafted my own pattern and applique.  I used fleece interfacing to give it more structure. The fabric yo-yo I used is authentic vintage from the 1940's.  I think it looks better in person, the exterior fabric didn't photo that well, but I like the hand crafted look of it.
Thanks for looking! Smiley

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My First Messenger Bag using Vintage Fabric on: March 07, 2007 12:24:01 PM
I've sewn many a tote, but never a Messenger Bag.  It took a lot more time!  Here it is, I used a 1960s vintage print for the flap, pocket and lining facing.  I included a small cell-phone pocket on the inside.  I based this off a Vogue pattern, but made many changes to the size, lining and pockets.

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / How to cut a fat quarter on: January 03, 2007 12:16:45 PM
Hi,  I want to make sure this is correct before I actually cut into my beautiful vintage fabrics.  A Fat Quarter is 18 X 22 or 23".  So, I cut off 18" of fabric and then slice it up the middle to equal a Fat Quarter.  Is that correct?
Thanks!
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Rusted Root yarn ideas on: November 08, 2006 03:44:50 PM
I just bought my own copy of the Rusted Root pattern and can't wait to start.  Has anyone done this in wool?  What yarns did you use?  Do you have photos?  Thanks!
