11  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / The break in my Poppet dry spell on: December 10, 2008 06:01:06 PM
This is my latest poppet. It's been awhile since my last one, made for Mother's day, I think!

She is wearing a red satin dress trimmed with black/gold braid and white pearls.
She has white bloomers, and cream boots. Her cape is sage green flannel with a cream ribbon trim at the hood and a pale blue ribbon trim.

Her eyes are really dark blue, and you have to look really closely to see the glitter in them. I used embriodery floss for her eyeliner, instead of paint, turned out really nice!

I used powder blush for the rose-y glow in her cheeks and her ears, just for a bit of detail!

My favorite shot!

I made her for Eliea, because she rocks the personel swaps!
What do you guys think?
12  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My newest 3 poppets on: March 08, 2008 07:06:13 PM
I thought I'd just post the 3 of these gals together, instead of 3 posts.

First up, We have Cordelia, made from Craftewoman's Elenore pattern.

SHe used to look like this..

I gave her a hair cut, added eyelids and eyelashes(thanks Malibukasey!)a little beauty mark by her eye, and a mouth. She's got dimples, like me!

She has pipe cleaners in her fingers too.

Next up is a mini, finished 2 days ago. She even has lil tiny freckles!

And thirdly, the lovely grey lady made(and finished) today! Her skin (same as the mini's)
is a soft, smooth grey that stuffed so nicely I regret getting only 2 yards!

It was a bit stretchy, so her feet are rather..well, huge. About an inch larger than my other poppets.
She doesn't mind tho, says it'll stop the others from borrowing her shoes!
Her eyes and hair I got in the poppet swap (I love this yarn Nezbutt!!!) And her eyelashes I got from Malibukasey(thanks again!)

I put a lil purple ribbon-thing in her hair, to keep it out of her face.

And here is a picture of them together!

13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / from a boring shirt to really neat. on: October 24, 2006 07:27:44 PM

I liked these two shirts well enough, just they were so blah, ya know. Boring. *yawn*

so I thought they'd be better together! I was right!!
From regular to rocking in about an hour!!!

added a little ribbon bow on front to feel more girly. Most likely won't last long before my baby boy rips it off, but why not!
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pirate Sox!!!!! on: October 24, 2006 07:16:51 PM
Cross one pair of plain socks with a bleach pen...
stir in a small helping of pirates on the brain...
and you get...... happy feet!!!!

Geez, my room is sooooo messy. Oh well, can't contain the creative!

aren't they cute as can be!
15  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 3 hoodies I made on Monday! on: October 23, 2006 08:23:11 PM
I was so inspired by all these fantastic hoodies I had to make some too!

My sister and I found this ugly/pretty green shirt at Walmart, and a POTC shirt, and a regular plain blue shirt.
This is how they turned out.

Please tell me what you think.

we wanted really big hoods!

I was, I guess, a bit inspired.

16  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Corset Pants!! on: August 19, 2006 07:02:13 PM
I had these plain black pants stuffed in my drawer. They didn't fit because of the baby (and the weight I have yet to loose!) Even a year after the baby, they still didn't fit, so I thought, why not.

I placed black satin in the side seams. That made them bigger, just a little too big.
my husband said " Use something white so it stands out!"
So I did.  I stitched white satin rattail down the sides (and it's still adjustable!)  I even added a pocket on one side! (mainly because I cut a hole in the side *whoops)  sorry about the dirty mirror. Sam likes to touch it after his bath. <Why does the baby in the mirror have a bath at the same time as me?>

used red thread to show definition   they tacked about 2 inches apart

makes me feel kinda sexy
17  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / my husband will have no pants left!!! on: August 15, 2006 07:00:27 PM
My husband wears a smaller pant size than me, so I stole a pair of his jeans, cut down the sides, and inserted some patch fabric so that they fit!
He actually asked me how much they cost!!! He didn't recognize them!!
 I think they look good!

hey! my butt looks pretty good!

just ignore my post c-section belly ( its been 15 months!)
and another shot

tell me what you think
18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I've got wings!! Tutorial added!!! heavy pics!! on: August 11, 2006 07:47:28 PM

From plain denim shirt to dragon winged fun!!
I wanna do another one, with a jean jacket!
Tell me you love!
19  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Prom dress to Renaissance dress on: July 14, 2006 09:21:30 PM
I found and old navy prom dress at Salvation Army and thought 'Hey, that's pretty, what can I do to it?'

At size 8, it was way too small, so I decided to make a costume for my friend, Sharon.
I added long, bell sleeves made of muslin to the short blue sleeves already there.
Then, as the neckline was a little low, I added a muslin band with a ribbon drawstring. This also had the effect of creating an underdress illusion. I also used some navy and gold trim at the sleeves and the neckline.

To complete the outfit, I used a remnant of gold brocade and made a corsetlet using bridal button loops down the front for the ribbon to go through.

It looks better on Sharon, but looks nice on the mannequin. (She's thinner)

Ignore the really messy craft room!!LOL
What do you think? Do you like it?
This is my first actual post.
