1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / zippered keying coin pouch (with tutorial) on: February 11, 2017 06:35:03 PM
no in progress shots but this was SO easy I think you guys will have no probs following along.
4-5 inch circles (I used the same fabric throughout but you can choose an outer fabric and a lining fabric, in that case 2 circles of each)
1-7 inch zipper
1-1 inch D-ring
start by cutting 4 total 5 inch circles (4 of the same fabric, or 2 outer 2 lining)
cut 1-1 inch square from outer fabric (this is the strap for the d-ring)
fold the 1 inch square in half, right sides together and sew a scant 1/4" seam allowance, turn right side out, press with seam in the middle and top stitch down both sides, set aside
cut 2 of the 5 inch circles in half, either 2 of the same, or 1 outer 1 lining
sandwich 2 of the halves (either 2 of the same or 1 outer 1 inner) centered on the zipper and sew a scant 1/4" seam allowance, fold back and press open. sandwich the remaining 2 halves on the other side of the zipper and sew together, fold open and press again.  now top-stitch close to the edge of the fabric to keep it out of the way of the zipper. Open the zipper about halfway (to make it easy to turn later), take the 2 full circles and lay them wrong sides together, take the 1 inch square that you sewed earlier, fold in half, and pin in place over the zipper at the open part, with the raw edges on the outside, then take the two full circles and place on top, you will now have 4 layers of fabric and the d-ring strap to sew through.
carefully sew around the edges with 1/4" seam allowance taking care when sewing over the zipper.
trim zipper and excess fabric and turn right side out. I used chop sticks to help turn the bag to push out the edges. top-stitch around outer edges to give a more finished look. Attach the d-ring and voila!
