1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Scoodie! [skuh-dee]: A scarf with a hood on it :D on: February 03, 2008 06:22:48 PM
My friend came to school with one that she had made from a sweater, so i was inspired to make my own. It's super easy to make and very comfortable. Although looking a little weird to some people, i think its very clever and goes with a lot that i wear!

But wait, whats that on the back?

OMG A HOOD?! On a scarf? MADNESS!

But oh so comfy for the colder days

Questions? Comments? Concerns? Do tell!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Lime Green Duct Tape = Supafly Utility Belt of PWNAGE on: January 23, 2008 09:19:41 PM
So i have a bunch of friends who make fun of how i knit, sew, and make a bunch of seemingly useless things just cuz i have time on my hands. However, they did give me a great idea on this one. My friend Alison was making a joke while i was knitting one day that i should make a utility belt to hold all of my knitting/sewing needs. I just laughed, but when i had no homework the other day, i thought to my self "hey, i have this role of duct tape, and an old belt, maybe i should give it a try!"  So i did, and here is the outcome. Sorry that i wasn't cool enough to make the belt from total scratch, but i dont have THAT much time on my hands, unfortunately  Sad

Questions? Comments? Concerns?

oh, and i wore it to school to, and oh boy the looks i got. HA! But all of my fellow Bando's loved it, along with majority everyone else! Hope you do too!!!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Cool jacket-like shirt from two big 'ol tees ((now with temporary tute)) on: June 18, 2007 12:04:23 AM
Hey all who are actually taking the time to read my post. I haven't been on here for a while, and my last recon stuff was...kinda lame XD
Everyones got to start somewhere right?

Well, I start my summer off with some sewing pleasure. Now keep in mind, for those of you who can sense mistakes from miles away and can see little stitch issues, i'm not completely done with this one. I have to re-enforce some stitches and whatnot to make it stronger and not so feeble

Also, I sewed one of the sleeves inside out XD silly Melissa.
Nobodys perfect (I gotta work it, again and again till I get it right XDD Hannah Montana Spazzz

Back to business. Here is what I started with:

And here is what I ended up with ((for now, I may make some adjustments =D))

I love my bathroom?

Back shots are hard >.<

I look flat too -.-'

Well thats what I have

Leave me anything

unfortunately for all those waiting on a tutorial for this, a full one won't be up for a while. I am currently really busy with marching band, schoolwork, sports, auditions, job, drumming, and about ten other things to take time to sit down and make a tutorial.

But honestly, this isn't too hard of a shirt to make, so I'll write a stand-in tutorial until i get a good one

1. Get two shirts
2. pick the one you want to be your main one
3. find a good fitting tank top, cut out a trace of the tank top on your main shirt
4. measure yourself so you can get esimates on the stripe parts, so you wont mess up like i did
5. from the second shirt, cuz 3 strips, two for the side ((about 3 inches)) and one for the back ((about 6 inches))
6. sew on the sides, leaving armholes
6B. cut down the back of the main shirt like your putting in a zipper, and then sew in the large strip back there
7. take the second shirts sleeves, and cut them out. then, cut out the seam of the sleeve and resew it so it fits better. then sew on the shirt.
8. Make a hood like shape and take a part of the main shirt to make a lining on the hood. measure the colar on your shirt and make a hood accordingly
9. if you want, you can cuz the middle like i did, with the little "V" thing in the front of the neck. jsut cut down the middle as far as you want, then roll in and resew

this is a really vague description of what i did, so if your up for it, you can try it or ask me questions about it until i have time for a tutorial

i'm sorry!!!!  Cry

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / old grandma flower skirt to mini dress on: August 07, 2006 11:30:42 PM
ok, so if you have read any of my other stuff, you may recall of me speaking of a garage sale where i got a bunch of weird junk. well, among the weird stuff, i got a grandma skirt that went all the way up to over my belly button and all the way down to my ankles  Undecided. but hey, it was free, so i took it. now, 5 months later, i decided to do something with it, after being inspired to sew again after i made a cape at my camp, which is absolutly amazing (the cape). well, enough talk, here it is.... Grin

unfortunatly i couldn't get a pic of the back, but its laced up like a corset, with a shoelace  Shocked haha but yeah

and to add to this amazingness, here is me and my amazing CAPE!

comments much appriciated

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Broken kite to new school messenger bag (pics) on: June 15, 2006 12:49:25 PM
ok, so about 4 months ago i went over to my friends house, and we ended up going to a garage sale. But by the time we got there, it was closed, and everything left was for free, including this broken kite that couldnt fly anymore. So, i got that, along with a sailor hat, old style skirt, a tyedye shirt, and two coat hangers (?? yeah dont ask) so it had been sitting in my closet fir a bit, and when i wanted to make a backpack, i though it would be awesome material.

Sorry, i dont have a before picture of the kite, but i do have this paint drawing of it =DD

haha well here is how it turned out

see, my bed likes to use it too

this is what it looks like on me ^_^

this is the inside of it, with this other cool fabric i had.

yeah if your wondering about the random flower strip in it, i ran out of material, and i needed to make it thicker and there was no kite fabric left reply with your thoughts
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / SUCH AN UGLY SHIRT! I NEED IDEAS TO MAKE IT WEARABLE! on: June 13, 2006 06:37:15 AM
ok so i have this horribly ugly shirt from my band trip. as u'll see by the picture, its horribly ugly. even my band teacher thouht it was hideous, and he suggested to give it to our grandparents (hes weird like that) but i dont think my grandmother would like a shirt with my school logo on it. so anyways, to add to the horribleness, this is what me and my friends refer to as a "dress" shirt, considering its almost long enough to be a short dress.

i kno its hard to look at, so i have to destroy it!!! muahahaha. any ideas anyone?
